Yes, we need information, vast amounts of it. But what good is information storage alone?
What’s more important is using all those information you’ve gleaned and implement them in your daily life.
Be deliberate in the kind and the amount of information you choose to seek. Don’e be distracted by every shiny object you see online. Be wary of polished, smooth-talking “gurus” offering the latest trendy courses.
Adopt your knowledge to daily agenda. Choose 1-2 skills to focus on at a time, break them down into manageable goals.
Define your goals. What do you want to accomplish?
As you learn, reflect about the skill you’re learning in order to make it stick.
Teach your new skill to others. Share away, this is the quickest way to learn and internalize your new skill.

When you do it? Is your work a good fit with your lifestyle? If you hate even a small part of what you do, then change it. Go find another pursuit.

25% of your activities account for 80% of your income. Make sure your income-producing activities are first on your to-do list of activities each week.

It is so valuable because you can never take it back once you spend it. Don;t give your time away for free, invest it wisely.
Learn to Say No
Don’t over commit especially to social activities that don’t lead to income generation. It’s better to earn money than to spend it. A night at the bar might release your stress level but don’t make a habit out of it.

Every business success book has this advice: surround yourself with powerful, successful people. Mindset and motivation is contagious, and if you surround yourself with people who play the game of life at a higher level than you, then your beliefs will be changed as they get impacted by the group.

Leading and motivating others is harder than motivating yourself. Voogd learned this the hard way when he was promoted as district manager early in his career and with it, has to build a new sales team.

You might have heard this before: you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Isn’t it the best reason to ensure only the most driven, successful people make it into your inner circle of influence?
Napoleon Hill calls it the mastermind, a “hive” of two or more people with similar driven attitudes who work toward a definite purpose, working harmoniously together.
This is the reason most self-help gurus always have an up-sell to join their “success groups,” a network of trainees and high network individuals who’ve agreed to become a leader for new recruits to follow.
Keep hustling and continue to grow and learn as you work towards achieving your dreams. Most people, and by most we mean 95% of the earth’s population, are contented with the learning they gained in school, not venturing out to add to their knowledge level.
Refuse to sink to this level of entropy. Learning should never stop. The more successful you become, the more levels of knowledge open up for you to absorb.
Go Against the Grain
You are the most unique individual you know, and no one else can tell your story but you alone.
Don’t settle. Be different. Be proud of your individual quirks that set you apart from the rest.
But how do we find ourselves when we’re constantly surrounded by well-meaning family members as well as peers who have an opinion on everything about our person and our goals?
Simple: Only listen to voices coming from people who have higher value than most, those who possess the track record, the reputation, and the bank account that you want to emulate.
To your own self be true.
Growing up in a typical family, we’re told “No” so many times in a single day, exhausted parents molding us to fit in, to behave, to act proper so as not to embarrass them. All these “No’s” have a psychological impact inside our minds.
So it’s understandable that in adulthood, “standing out” sounds like very scary advice. Our whole lives we’ve been told to conform.
In order to change the game, don’t repress your inner exuberance for entrepreneurship any longer. Come out of the prison, be bold! Be more than average.
If you want to live like no one else, be brave enough to come out of line and pursue dreams the rest of society don’t want to.
Find out what your real values are; they will lead to easier decisions.
Know what you want. Then come up with reasons to spark some action.
The author mentioned that he knew two things when he was at his deepest despair: he hated being broke, and he hated working a normal job.
Voogd knew where he was going, and he respected himself enough to recognize the things he hated. This clarity spurred him to work even harder to succeed in his business.

Your confidence account is more important than your bank account.
Confidence comes from self-esteem, which in turn comes from consistently doing the things you need to do whether you’re in the mood to do them or not.
When you’re assured of your own self-worth, and certain that the things you’re doing will lead you to success, then your confidence account runs high.
Looking for outside factors or influences to give you answers regarding your business isn’t healthy. Look inside you, trust your instincts.

Confidence can only come if you’ve studied extensively about succeeding in business, strategies to increase sales or empower your employees, tricks to beat the ailments that plague young businesses. Be very prepared and arm your arsenal of knowledge.

In this modern age, resources are available everywhere. All the answers are available at the press of a button. Knowledge is the ultimate resource, and the internet makes sure we all have equal access to the mother of all resources.
Study what everybody else is doing and then do the opposite. Flip the script.

When we stop aspiring to be greater, when we instead talk exclusively with the kind of people who don’t push us to get out of our comfort zone, then we get complacent.
The fire of motivation needs constant tending to. Help it grow brighter.

Success isn’t a destination. It’s an ongoing journey.
Your past actions influence your character, which in turn determines the level of success you can attain.

His book blurb claims no BS, no fluff and it was as he said. Written in the book is the same biography you can read on his website bio – where he mentions he started working at 15 years old and made more money selling shoes on Ebay than doing heavy menial work.
Reading this gets repetitive.
Reading this book is like reading a shadow of the top 10 other previous books on self-improvement I’ve read.
I noticed a lot of similar concepts from Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success and Grant Cardone’s Be Obsessed or be Average, passages like creating your own circle of successful achievers (mastermind), and busting out of society’s template to be your own unique self.
The wording is original but the concept isn’t. Most of the unique ideas touted by so-called self-improvement gurus have already been discussed multiple times by earlier pioneers and it’s foolish to assume that a young guy like Peter Voogd will introduce new groundbreaking ideas in his book.
It’s just refreshing to see such a youthful face that brings the entire millennial generation in a positive light.
