5 Aspects to Mastering Closing

To become a master in closing, Brad teaches us that there are 5 aspects that we need to tackle.

  1. Mental Preparation: Being mentally prepared is the foundation for displaying confidence ensuring effective sales pitches. This includes developing a winning mindset and overcoming psychological barriers that impede sales performance.
  2. Micro Commitments: The technique involves breaking down the sales process into smaller, more manageable steps, making it easier for clients to continue moving forward in the sales process.
  3. Building Relationships: It is important to build relationships with your customers and not just sell products. Connecting with clients on a personal level can lead to higher conversions and repeat business.
  4. Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Brad Lea emphasizes the need for salespeople to continually learn and adapt their strategies based on market trends and customer feedback. This keeps the closer’s tactics fresh and effective.
  5. Sales as a Broad Skill: Brad teaches that sales skills are not only for sales roles. You can use these skills in any situation where you need to persuade or influence.

How Brad Lea Went From Homeless to Millionaire

Brad's Background and Story

Brad Lea was raised in a hardworking, blue-collar family, which influenced his entrepreneurial spirit. He became a care salesperson where he developed strong interpersonal skills, charisma, and resilience. Brad has been married multiple times and has several children from various relationships. At some point he left home to follow his "goals" but he didn't turn out successful and he ran out of money. He was homeless for a short period and lived on a beachside.

Turning Point in His Life

His time spent homeless, living on a beach by choice, gave him a unique perspective in life and taught him to be grateful. He realized the importance of being genuine and authentic, so he stopped pretending to be someone he's not. This shift in his life affected how he handled his business and personal relationships.

How Brad Lea Got Rich

After the mindset shift, Brad got to work. He started various businesses including LightSpeed VT, a virtual training platform. He used his skills in sales and his charismatic personality to grow the businesses. Brad diversified his income sources by creating a YouTube channel and podcast. These outlets also boosted his online presence and grew traffic to his sites.

What's not mentioned in the interview: Charisma, resilience, and hardwork are not enough to make you a successful entrepreneur. You need to have substantial financial backing to start and scale any business.

Can High-Ticket Closing Lead to Financial Freedom?

High-ticket closing can lead to financial freedom, however unlikely it is. Achieving financial freedom through the selling of other people’s products will take a LOT of time. While high-ticket products have the highest commission rates, it is difficult to be accepted by these companies. These businesses often prefer getting closers with years of experience and high conversion rates as it keeps profitability and reduces risks of negative effects to their reputation.

As a beginner closer who has built no network, you are at a tremendous disadvantage when looking for opportunities. You need to build a relationship with influential individuals or decision-makers for these high-ticket offer companies. Having a network can help you greatly with referrals. This brings you to the next challenge, skill set.

In order to build a reputation and get high-ticket work, you need to develop your sales skill set to be one of the best in the industry. This means investing a lot in coaching and mentorship, or first getting lots of experience, most likely for low commission. This can take a lot of years and a lot of hard work. It also holds the risks of you losing money as closing brings unpredictable income flow.

The last part is scalability. The few closers who were able to become millionaires do so by turning their skills into their own business. If, after years of hard work, you were able to become a renowned and in-demand closer; you face the challenge of scaling in order to create passive income. You need to turn your closing skill set into a business. This can be done by creating courses and coaching programs, or by starting a company that provides closing services. These carry their own challenges and risks. If financial freedom is what you are looking for, it might be best to look for other venues.

Earn Predictable Passive Income With Local Lead Generation

To achieve financial freedom, you need to create a predictable and passive cash flow. Local lead generation is my recommended business model for creating stable passive cash flow. As a digital real estate business, you create a website and rank it on Google using SEO tactics. This rank website will generate organic leads from which local businesses would benefit from. As the landlord for this digital asset, you earn a predictable monthly income from renting it out. You can earn $500 to $3,000 per lead generation site. You don’t have to worry about making sales and earning commission.

When it comes to closing, you have to compete with hundreds if not thousands of other closers. The less experienced you are, the less likely you’ll win. In a local lead generation, you only need to outrank a handful of sites. You don’t need to have a portfolio as your ranked site will be your “social proof.”

Since you only have so much time in a day, the only way to scale as a closer is to start a business based on your skills. This means you need to first be very successful and build a reputation. Then you can start monetizing your skills by selling courses, consultation, or even manpower services. This will mean investing more money and creating more risks. To scale a local lead generation, you simply need to create another website, rank it, and rent it out without adding more work or risks. You can repeat this process as much as you want, making your earning potential limitless. Once a site is rented it’s completely hands-free and that’s why local lead generation is my recommended business to create time and financial freedom.
