He also has over 430 free videos for aspiring ecommerce and dropshippers on his channel. As a business model, dropshipping is going to require a lot of attention and upfront capital before you ever see a return on investment. By the time you make any profit, you may have already spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on social media ads.

So, can Kamil teach you everything you need to know to make money with dropshipping? We take a look at what people can expect from the ecommerce business training, its pros and cons, and what people are saying about it. We also tell you about another business model that makes it possible to earn passive income without the hassle of dealing with customers, suppliers, physical products, and paid ads.

Ecom King Review: Pros and Cons

Pros

The free dropshipping course runs for almost 9 hours and contains in-depth information. It covers important topics, such as finding a winning product, launching effective social media ad campaigns (Google Ads, Tiktok Ads, Facebook Ads, YouTube video ad, etc), hiring virtual assistants, and more.

Kamil is a trusted authority who has helped over 6 companies grow their business to over 6 and 7 figures.

The Ecom King free course has many positive reviews, as seen in the comments section. Also, some of Kamil's students claim to have generated over $15 million in revenue.

There is community support for students via a private Facebook group.

Cons

Some critics argue the training is only for complete newbies. Advanced dropshippers may have to look elsewhere.

The free YouTube trainings are full of affiliate links in their description boxes.

While the private Facebook group has 19.3k members, it’s not actually as active. As of this writing, there were only 5 new posts in the last month.

The E-Commerce and Dropshipping Consultation services can be expensive, especially for beginners in the business. Booking a 30-min call with Kamil costs $700 while a 1-hour call costs $1,450.

5 Ecom King Shopify Store Tips

Kamil shares several practical Ecom King Shopify store tips in a YouTube interview with Shopify’s Benjamin Gottlieb. Some of his pointers are:

  • 1. Sell seasonal products. Online store owners should always prepare for the upcoming season. “Let's say we're in August and we know that we've got Halloween and Black Friday around the corner,” Kamil said. Sellers should determine what they want to sell and tap different suppliers to ensure product availability.
  • 2. Work with the best suppliers. According to Kamil, it’s always best to ask suppliers, “Is the product I'm looking to put in my store in your warehouse?” It’s important to find out if the items are on-hand or are stored elsewhere (a partner’s warehouse, for example, or from other sources). “If they do have it in their warehouse, that's gonna cut 10 days out of the shipping (time) straight away,” points out Kamil.
  • 3. TikTok can be a tool for organic marketing. Beyond doing research, entrepreneurs can also use TikTok for organic marketing purposes. “What works on TikTok is a video that doesn't even look like an ad,” shares Kamil. And when a video goes viral, it could be a chance to earn bigger profits.
  • 4. Do not sell copyrighted products. Selling copyrighted products like Marvel, Coca-Cola or other brands can lead to potential problems if your supplier doesn’t sell licensed items. So it’s best to avoid copyrighted products in the first place.
  • 5. Print-on-demand service can help you diversify. Using and offering print-on-demand services can be an effective way to reduce risks of buying new inventory. According to Kamil, the technology can also help diversify your income streams.

What is the Ecom King Review Reddit?

On Reddit, a user attests to the legitimacy of what Kamil teaches. However, the person also has this belief that Kamil has an agenda by putting his course out for free.

People are so used to getting conned by "gurus" that any free help just seems too good to be true. But it looks like they did some more research and found the information to be valuable.

Digging further, we see more Ecom King reviews from different Reddit users. Popitahbiba1 accuses Ecom King as a fake, claiming that he pretends to be against selling courses just to "drive traffic to his YouTube channel and earn from Google Ads."

In another post, the same user says people should avoid Kamil because he is "just a broke YouTuber looking to be famous."

Meanwhile, SuccessfulAd3516 urges others to “stop hating on a man who's trying to save the industry from course sellers.” The commenter also reminds that “Business Insider has verified he's achieved 7 figures.”

We also see shcarrol’s post where the user writes Kamil is "legit" and "makes a lot of content himself." The Redditor also shares they initially found out about Kamil through the UK TV show Rich House Poor House. “He and his partner have a luxury apartment in Birmingham,” the user wrote, adding “he clearly has money.”

Who is Kamil Sattar?

Kamil Sattar is a British ecommerce entrepreneur born on May 10, 1999. As a teenager, he worked at Primark and JD Sports. After his day jobs, he would always go to the clubs, drink, and get into fights. He got into a lot of trouble with the police. After learning the Cashflow Quadrant from Robert Kiyosaki, he started researching a way to make money online.

Kamil eventually dropped out of Shrewsbury College in England where he was going for a diploma in international business. At age 20, he became the youngest member of the Forbes Business Council. Kamil has since founded and partnered in over 6 ecommerce companies. All his companies have generated over $5 million in revenue each year. He also coaches other ecommerce business owners so they can scale their brands and achieve 6 to 7 figures in yearly revenue.

As of this writing, The Ecom King YouTube channel has over 516,000 subscribers and 432 videos posted online.

What is Kamil Sattar's Ecom King Net Worth?

Kamil Sattar has an estimated net worth of between $5 million and $12 million. This is based on the revenue generated by the 6 e-commerce companies he has helped scale past 7-figures. Also, this factors in the revenue generated through his online mentoring program. Other online sources claim that Kamil's net worth is around $500k to $2 million. While it does not specify the exact figure online, we know his net worth is in the millions because of his success with dropshipping.

Kamil Sattar Claims

1. There are no strings attached to his Ecom King’s free YouTube courses.

We can often hear Kamil Sattar in his videos saying his YouTube courses are completely free, with “no filters and no agendas.” As the Ecom King, he takes an “anti guru” stance because he is against overpriced but poor quality online courses. He constantly puts out free content out there, so anyone who wants to learn dropshipping can learn from him without any cost. In a LadBible feature, he even labels himself as the Robin Hood of eCommerce.

2. He’s a proud member of the Forbes Council.

At age 20, Kamil made headlines in 2020 after becoming the youngest member of Forbes Council at the time. The professional organization is popular for having strict membership requirements and they only accept CEOs and entrepreneurs with successful track records. In media reports, Kamil said feels “deeply thankful to the team at Forbes Councils for handpicking me to be a verified member of their council.”

Kamil Sattar Claims Debunked

1. In a way, Kamil earns from his YouTube videos.

Although it’s true that Ecom King videos are free to watch on YouTube, we can’t say he’s not earning anything from them or aren’t using the opportunity to promote his paid services. First off, his YouTube videos run ads. Since his channel is monetized, it’s a safe bet he has earned income from having millions of views over the years.

In addition, the videos’ description boxes typically have affiliate links. Kamil also takes time to pitch his high ticket consulting and mentorship services. His E-commerce Dropshipping Consultation sessions cost $700 (30 mins) to $1,450 (1 hour). Meanwhile, his E-commerce mentoring service costs $5,000 per month. Critics are saying that these factors contradict his claim of being “anti-guru” since he often makes money from expensive services.

2. Kamil is no longer active as a Forbes Council member.

While Kamil is indeed a Forbes Council member, a quick research led us to discover that he is no longer an active member.

Looking at the screenshot we shared earlier, we see that his last contribution on Forbes was on April 26, 2022. It’s also interesting to note that his membership status indicates “fee-based.” According to online data, fee-based Forbes Council members pay $2,500 to $5,000 a year to retain their membership.

Also, Kamil is no longer the youngest Forbes Council member. At 18 years old, Trendify co-founder Sai Karra now holds the title.

What is E-commerce Mentoring?

E-commerce Mentoring is a group of experts in Shopify dropshipping and ecommerce. They provide professional mentoring that lasts up to 3 years. According to their website, E-commerce Mentoring provides potential customers “with the tools that you need to start your own business.” For those willing to put in the required time and effort, the company ensures “you will have the knowledge and guidance you need to succeed.”

E-commerce Mentoring also has a 3-tier store system.Stores that generate between $5,000 and $25,000 per month are considered Cats while stores that earn between $25,000 and $75,000 per month are considered Tigers. Meanwhile, stores that generate between $75,000 and $150,000 in revenue each month are considered Lions.

Kamil's team doesn't just teach you how to sell products. You also learn how to build your online store's brand, how to manage cash-flow, how to understand Facebook ads, copywriting and more. This program sells for $5,000. Just be reminded that in the website’s Terms of Service, we read that the company does not grant refunds for mentoring students.

Is ecommerce worth it in 2024?

Ecommerce is worth it in 2024 because, according to Forbes, the global ecommerce market is expected to reach $6.3 trillion this year. This proves that there is plenty of money to be made in this industry. The challenge is that most of that money is going to be made by bigger, established brands than smaller, aspiring entrepreneurs. If you are prepared to put in a lot of work to create social media ads, conduct in-depth product research, deal with customer complaints, refunds, returns, and more to compete with them, you can make some money.

The problem is that you may have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars before you see any profit. Monthly and annual sales may not even be as much as you initially expect. For many people, the payoff in dropshipping isn't worth it.

As with other online business models like Amazon FBA and affiliate marketing, you can make money, but they don't offer the control and high profit margins that local lead generation does. In any case, you won’t have to worry about dealing with affiliate links and potential customers like you would in ecommerce.

5 Hard Truths About Dropshipping

1. Low Profit Margins

Since you don't have to manage or store your own inventory, the overhead is low - but so are the returns. You don't pay for any merchandise, but you have to pay for traffic on social media to generate more sales. If you don't pay for ads, then you won't make any sales unless you are crushing it with SEO. Your profit margins usually range between 5% and $20% depending on how good you are promoting your products. You can then reevaluate which campaign ad methods best bring the best results.

2. Highly Competitive

Since getting started with dropshipping doesn't require a high initial investment, there can be a lot of competition. This business model is getting more competitive as the years pass because larger companies and suppliers are cutting out the middleman completely by selling their products at the lowest prices with no markup. That makes it even more difficult for the average seller to make money with this business model. The increase in competition also makes running a Facebook ad more expensive. Plus it can be more difficult to stand out in a saturated market.

3. No Control Over Supply Chains

With dropshipping, there are many things that are out of your control - such as the supply chains. There’s nothing you can do to make a product get to its destination faster. During the COVID-19 pandemic, shipping times exponentially increased. No matter what you did or who you could have called, you could do nothing to get customers their products quicker. These days, suppliers usually ship products as soon as they receive payment, but there is nothing you can do at that point but hope your customers are happy with their order and the delivery lead time.

4. Product Research and Testing

Product research can take up a lot of your time. Even if you find a winning product, they may not sell anymore at some point. You have to keep looking for the next product that will generate income for you so that you are always making money each month. It's wise to test several dropshipping products at a time if you have the capital to do so by running social media ads and split testing different creatives. It's wise to be careful not to get wrapped up overthinking this process. Allow yourself to be decisive and choose which products to test. If you don't take this action, you'll never make a sale and will only be wasting more of your time.

5. Difficult to Build a Brand

Building a brand will take time and capital because you are competing with larger, well-known brands. If you can create a brand that connects with millions of people, you can make a name for yourself in the ecom world. To have a chance at competing with the larger brands, you must have an excellent social media presence. This requires organic growth and you paying for traffic which, again, is getting more expensive with each year.

Local Lead Generation Offers a More Predictable Income You Control

Compared with dropshipping, local lead generation puts you in greater control of how much money you make each month. You can easily predict what your profit is, plus you aren't creating social media ads or split testing. You don't have to purchase any initial inventory, and you don't have to worry about tracking shipments all the time.

With this business model, you own digital properties and offer them for rent. You decide what niche to generate leads in, what your Google ranking strategy will be, which local small business owners you'll work with, and how much money they have to pay you each month.

Local lead generation

My tree care site in Grand Rapids is one of over 50 lead generation service sites that pay me every month like clockwork ever since I built them over 7 years ago. Once you build and rank these digital properties, they become your digital assets that keep paying you as long as they continue to rank at the top of the search results. Business owners will be more than happy to pay you a fixed fee every month if you are consistently and exclusively sending them leads. For anyone interested, I teach a local lead generation program where I share effective strategies to achieve success in the industry.
