With so many gurus out there teaching Facebook ads, does Kevin David’s course outshine the competition?
Does the information he teaches actually help the everyday person find clients and create a profitable Facebook ads agency?
We cover all that and more.
First and foremost, who is Kevin David?
Who is Kevin David?
Kevin David is a successful digital marketing entrepreneur and coach who has scaled multiple 7 figure businesses completely online.
Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit since childhood, Kevin, like many others, graduated college and started a 9-5 job in accounting.
Dissatisfied and drained from working long hours, Kevin eventually changed jobs and started working as a consultant for Facebook.
Yet, he still found himself incredibly unhappy with his future prospects and began searching for a different way to gain the time freedom he craved. After researching for ways to make money online, Kevin soon found explosive success through Amazon FBA.
In 2017, Kevin founded his company THATLifestyleNinja with the mission to help others escape the 9-5 grind and live their dream lives.
His company boasts over 100,000 YouTube subscribers and the largest Facebook community that has ever existed to date.
Kevin has created 3 courses so far: his Amazon FBA course, a Shopify course, and now the Facebook Ads course we’re going to be reviewing for you here.
Kevin’s accolades are super impressive.
In fact, if you type in “Facebook ads” into Youtube, his videos show up at the top with over 2 million views and counting. He also claims to run a successful Facebook ads agency in addition to running his other online businesses.
What Will You Learn in This Course?
This course is meant to be a comprehensive overview of all things Facebook ads.
You’ll learn all about what makes a successful Facebook ad: setting up your business manager, deciding which ad is the most profitable to run for an objective, designing your ads to be the most effective, and finding not only your perfect audience but also your perfect clients.
As an added bonus, once you purchase you gain access to the private mastermind Facebook group where you can connect, get advice, and continue to learn from other students just like you.
But is the course worth the $1,997 sticker price?
Let’s dive into each module to find out.
The Facebook Ads Ninja Course Breakdown
Kevin starts off the course with a bold promise that “[this] course is going to be the best course training you’ve ever seen on Facebook ads .”
He then dives right in and introduces himself, giving some more background about his entrepreneurial journey.
Afterward, he stresses why Facebook ads are an essential and profitable form of advertising for all businesses and why people are willing to pay you for knowing this skill.
He delivers a breakdown of what’s going to be covered in each module and recommends his students take detailed notes while going through the entire course to absorb the information before diving in a second time.
Kevin is sure to emphasize that this is in no way a get rich quick scheme.
Running Facebook ads is an iterative and complex process and requires tons of testing to see what works and what doesn’t.
Only the truly dedicated succeed in this type of business model and he mentions that his course has produced tons of successful students.
He leaves us with one final speech: never give up, keep practicing, and you WILL be successful.
Total video time for the Welcome video: 23 min 26 seconds.
Module 01: Understanding Facebook Ads and What Works
Module 1 is meant to be a stepping stone into the world of Facebook advertising.
You’re taught how various tools and Facebook features function and introduced to basic advertising concepts. Kevin starts from the very beginning and ensures you have everything you need to get started.
This module is a perfect introduction to the world of Facebook advertising, especially coming from a local business standpoint.
Where many people seem to go wrong when it comes to Facebook ads for their own local businesses is getting caught up in the aesthetics while ignoring audience demographics.
The offer is everything, your lead magnet is everything-- and Kevin wants you to understand this.
Facebook ads are so much more than putting an image and words to accompany it, there needs to be a strategy.
For local businesses, that comes in the form of your unforgettable too-good-to-be-true lead magnet.
I think Kevin makes this point abundantly clear throughout the course, showing you examples and explanations to bring his point across.
Module 1 is straightforward and Kevin starts off bringing amped up energy that makes you pumped to get grinding.
This first module covers the most basic points without appearing too simplified or dumbed-down, so newbies and those with Facebook ads experience can take the time to appreciate it.
It also emphasizes the most important principle when it comes to running Facebook ads for any local business: lead with an offer.
Total video time for the module: 1 hour and 46 minutes
Module 02: How To Go From Complete Beginner to Facebook Ads Ninja
The information covered in this module is crucial to understanding all varieties of campaign objectives and the best optimization practices to minimize wasted ad spend.
Module 2 is pure gold and one you don't want to skip over it at all, or even scroll Facebook while you're doing it (I know, the irony).
Kevin shows you each and every possible ad campaign you can run and then exactly how you should run them for success:
First off, Kevin will ingrain in your mind just how powerful and integral the Facebook pixel is to the majority of the campaigns you will run.
Imparting this information from the start, he then goes over the end goal of each campaign along with examples of the ads he discusses.
He covers end-to-end detail on each ad campaign, coming prepared with examples and focusing on what has worked well for past campaigns he's run.
Understanding the objectives and metrics you should be tracking behind any campaign you run saves you tons of money and headaches, which is ultimately what Kevin has been tasked to show us.
My only critique is that he skims over some ad campaigns he views as not particularly helpful for local businesses, yet he seems to really narrow in on ones that work for Shopify or Amazon FBA business owners- mini course pitches?
I would have liked to see some of the less popular options at play such as the "app install" as well as more detail on running a lead generation campaign.
Total video time for the module: 1 hour and 42 minutes
Module 03: How to Create Your Ultra Targeted Audiences That Will Skyrocket Your Business
There’s a good amount of research and data compilation that goes into narrowing in on your ideal audience. But don’t worry, Kevin walks you through the entire process.
The building blocks of Modules 1 and 2 have set the perfect foundation for the next focus of this module: laser-targeting your absolutely perfect audience.
So if you slipped up and missed some videos here and there from the past two modules, I suggest you take another look before diving into this one.
The transition from the first few modules to this one flows seamlessly. You should feel pretty well equipped to handle more advanced concepts by this point as the bases are covered.
Understanding what goes into defining your perfect target audience is absolutely crucial to any successful Facebook ad campaign, which is why so many do it WRONG-- and it's insane to see how!
We're introduced to incredibly useful tools like Audience Insights and Google Trends to narrow down interests, behaviors, and demographics of your intended audience.
These are all resources every Facebook marketer has available in their arsenal, yet many just don't know how to use them properly for ultra-targeted marketing.
Creating custom and look-alike audiences from your pixel and ad campaign data can completely transform your business-- this is what made Kevin's ad agency explode from his experience.
He shows us how to create custom audiences from email lists, video views, website traffic, and much more.
This knowledge is key to scaling your business to new levels and increasing both profitability and productivity for your clients.
Some of the videos can be long-winded, especially the 3 videos where Kevin covers targeting in different key areas (demographics, interests, and behaviors) because he really takes the time to get into the nitty-gritty of using Facebook's massive data store.
But I completed this module with a thorough understanding of doing effective due diligence when it comes to narrowing in on your audience, so Kevin does an overall great job of conveying important information that sticks.
Total video time for the module: 2 hours and 20 minutes
Module 04: How to Create Ad Copy and Creatives that Convert Like Crazy
Now that you know how to capture data and find your perfect audience, it’s time to design your ad! There’s a logical thought process behind ad design and Kevin shows you how to perfect it.
If creativity is more your strong suit, then you'll love this module because Kevin goes over all things design and copy related to Facebook ads.
A highly optimized and profitable Facebook ad follows a secret sauce formula that has been tested and tried from Kevin's own ads experience. So, no unnecessary fluff here.
You don't need to be crazy professional, a videographer, or a wordsmith to create a simple and effective ad.
What's important to understand is what will resonate well with your audience- a flashy image, an eye-catching headline, words that speak to them directly.
Kevin provides you with the simple blueprint to follow to write the ad copy itself and do research through sites like AdEspresso and swiped.co to view winning examples and get inspired for your own work.
What this module lacks is more real-world examples. Now, he does show a few examples of ad copy from a pdf file and demonstrates example ads from successful marketers.
Yet a video where Kevin demonstrated his thought process behind creating simple ad copy for a client would have been extremely useful if shown here.
Copy is one of the things people get hung up most about and it's really important, so I feel more depth and focus on the topic at hand would have made this module much stronger.
Total video time for the module: 1 hour and 36 minutes
Module 05: How to Make a Ton of Money Without Needing Your Own Product
Itching to get the money rolling in now that you’re a Facebook ads expert?
Sit tight and learn how to grow your business with advice from a seasoned Facebook ads agency owner. You’ll be ready to prospect in no time.
This is the longest module thus far, which makes sense considering this is the main selling point of the course.
You're going to learn the ins and outs of a Facebook agency model so you can get your own up and running, complete with monthly clients and enhanced workflows.
There's no shortage of self-praise from Kevin's end, as he continuously points out that we know more than "99% of all Facebook marketers."
He starts the module super excited to discuss just how crucial our services are in this era to small businesses and how taking advantage of this skillset can change your life.
He then spends time in each separate video covering a different lead generation strategy to help find clients and paid Facebook ads work.
He also shows us the phone and email templates he personally uses for clients and even throws in 3 golden nugget videos that guide us through running an ad for a local client step-by-step!
Honestly, a lot of the strategies Kevin uses aren't really mind-blowing.
Hot leads like friends and family are usually our first focal points for so-called "easy money" in a new business venture, so it just makes sense to go to them first.
Then comes the old "trial phase" method where you offer your services for free to get your foot in the industry and gain experience, followed by local business networking and free job searches.
But the main takeaway of searching for clients in everyday spaces who are actively paying for advertising is a great tactic to try out.
There are no shortages of lead generation strategies in this module, and you're bound to get a bite one way or another from some of them.
Total video time for the module: 3 hours and 31 minutes
Module 06: How to Retarget
Module 6 provides critical insight into the secrets behind Kevin’s extreme success in Facebook advertising: leveraging the power of retargeting.
So if you want to scale the profitability of your ads and grow your business exponentially, follow Kevin closely.
Okay, Module 6 takes the cake for the most jam-packed with information.
And it's information vital to your life-line as a Facebook ads marketer: targeting, re-targeting, and further scaling from there.
Did we mention that proper and profitable testing is probably one of the most important things you can learn about Facebook advertising?
Kevin circles home back to this point once more in this final module and certainly doesn't let you forget it.
We are taught the fundamentals of split-testing and how to do it correctly straight from the beginning.
There are so many permutations you can split-test in a single ad-set: location, page likes, potential interests, and much more.
Kevin saves us the pains of manually going through the process, showing us how to automatically split-test with a single ad creation and set automatic rules to allow Facebook's algorithm to decide whether to scale or stop an ad based on limits we set.
Kevin also dives into generating more data because who doesn't need more data for a campaign, right?
We accomplish this by retargeting our ads to people who have taken an action like visiting our site, purchasing an item, or submitting a form.
When done right, retargeting combined with targeted custom and lookalike audiences can explode your ad profitability.
There are also short helpful videos on tidbits like going live on Facebook and contacting ad support when needed.
I have really no critique of this module, other than a bit of repeating information and some promotion of his existing courses.
The information presented was clear, detailed, and very comprehensive.
Working over Kevin's shoulder and getting to see him run an example ad from start to finish has to be the icing on the cake to finish the course.
Total video time for the module: 3 hours and 45 minutes
So Is This Course Worth the Money?
There’s no doubt that Kevin has achieved massive success in the digital marketing realm.
His YouTube channel with videos spanning multiple online marketing topics boasts an impressive 747,000 subscribers, so he definitely provides a ton of free and valuable information.
But does the information he imparts in this course justify the $1,997 sticker price?
What I Liked
In my opinion, I think it does.
Granted, there are plenty of cheaper and even free Facebook ads courses out there that provide a solid foundation for Facebook advertising. Yet the level of depth and detail that Kevin covers is unmatched.
You can really tell that he spent considerable time compiling his years of experience into a digestible blueprint for his students to follow.
Small business owners and prospective Facebook ad agency owners can all benefit from his thoroughness.
Kevin doesn’t give us the run-around; he teaches valuable time and money-saving tactics that get his students started on the right foot. He focuses on the most important pieces of information and only shares methods that he knows work because he’s actually used them in his own business.
He displays his enthusiasm for teaching throughout the course and it’s easy to tell he’s super passionate about this business model.
All in all, I feel that my knowledge of Facebook advertising has greatly expanded thanks to the lessons in this course.
What I Didn't Like
First, the organization of this course is quite scattered.
There are several videos in each module that appear random and seem like they belong in a different module.
Many videos also heavily repeat prior information and fail to present new information that warrants the need for a separate video.
While Kevin’s thoroughness can be appreciated in many aspects, he sometimes goes into too much detail that seems excessive. The minutiae detail he includes drones on and feels overwhelming at times.
It helps that he includes a written summary of each video side-by-side during his demonstrations because you definitely need it to wrap your head around the main points he’s trying to get across.
I also felt as if I were being pitched on his other courses at several points throughout the course, which can be annoying if you want to focus solely on Facebook advertising.
Building out a Facebook ad agency takes a hefty chunk of time when you factor in the learning curve, prospecting, and other start-up expenses.
But there’s no doubt you’ve gotten a head start after taking Kevin’s course.
Based on the level of information covered and the added bonus of a private mastermind group, the course investment is more than worth it.
This course is perfect for total beginners and Facebook advertising dabblers as you’re guaranteed to learn new tips and tricks most people don’t know about yet.
I’d rate this course as one of the best and most comprehensive Facebook ads courses on the market and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a jump-start.

What we didn't like:
So What's Really The Best Online Business?
In my opinion, local lead generation still supersedes any form of online business out there, including the very lucrative Facebook ad agency model.
With local lead generation, you’re using Google to generate leads completely free using the power of search engine optimization. There are nearly zero out-of-pocket advertising expenses compared to dumping an unscrupulous amount in ad-spend with no guaranteed results.
There’s also a ton of time spent testing with Facebook ads- a tried and true process that is key to success.
With local lead generation, once your site is ranking in the search engines and is optimized and designed to your liking, you can pretty much leave it and let it rank. You don’t have to spend hours finding out what works first because simply following the lead generation process takes most of the guess-work out.
Plus with any social media platform, predictability is never certain. Algorithm changes, new metrics, new features- something is always changing. The social media market is thus more volatile and requires constant re-education to keep up with updates.
This makes a local lead generation business truly passive income once all the heavy lifting is done. With a Facebook ads agency, you’re going to need to churn out reports, keep track of important data, and be pretty hands-on throughout the span of your client contract.
Though the Facebook ads agency model is attractive as an online business, it requires ample time creating and maintaining your ads, has a high learning curve, and some higher start-up costs than lead gen.
Given these factors, I’d say starting a lead generation business is the safest route to go if you’re looking to make money online.
Here are the six steps to running a successful lead generation business:
Step 1: Pick a niche
The riches are in the niches, as I like to say.
Some niches tend to be easier to rank than others and some require a formal business license before creating the site while others don't. That's why due diligence in your research ('surveying the land') is important prior to building out a site.
But niches are pretty much endless and you can get into many different areas: painting, commercial junk removal, pool cleaning--you name it.
Step 2: Build and rank
This is where you'll build out your lead generation website for your niche.
You'll follow a proven process to get your site up right correctly from the very beginning and have it ranking on top of Google in no time.
Step 3: Send free leads
Once your site hits Google's top ranks, that's when the phone calls start coming in. That's also when your prospecting begins.
Find a local business owner in your niche that isn't doing too hot and could use the business. The best candidates tend to be those without a website or a poorly ranking website.
Call 'em up and let them know you've got some great free leads to pass off to them. Send them these free leads for a short time-frame, let's say 2 weeks or so.
If they're still itching for more and are hungry to keep the leads churning, it's time to strike a deal.
Step 4: Close a deal
"Hey, so-and-so, I'm glad to hear these leads are panning out for you and you're getting more business. Tell you what, you want to keep this thing going? What do you say we discuss a deal?"
That's you, using your awesome prospecting skills and then some to close your first deal.
Whether it's a monthly retainer, fee per lead, or percentage-based, you've got yourself some moolah from an itty bitty site you built from the ground up.
Step 5: Build out more properties
The grind doesn't stop there. Now that you've got your first deal, it's time to build, build, build like crazy.
Do that research, select your niches and locations, and start building out as many sites as you can.
Step 6: Hire and scale
The average value of one lead generation website is $750.
Here's a site I created that nets me $750 per month:
If you've managed to get 6 clients, that's an average monthly income of $4,500 with very little overhead costs. Pretty much the site hosting and call software is all you need.
For six sites, that would be around $75. That's it. The rest is pure profit.
You've got an insanely profitable and highly scalable online business right here. Keep building and renting, outsource and hire your team, and you've got yourself a full-blown agency.
That's the beautiful simple math behind a lead generation business.
Here's a site I created that nets me $750 per month:
To recap, local lead generation is the absolute best online business model because:
