When Setting Up Amazon Shipments in Seller Central

Follow carefully the info given by Amazon for inward shipments in your seller central portal. If you miss a detail here can be costly (if a shipment is mislabeled, (best case) it can be sent back and re-labeled and sent back in or (worst case) it can get stuck somewhere along the line and be an absolute mess to sort out). 

Three kinds of Shipping

  • Sea: slowest but cheapest, chance of port or customs delays
  • Air Express: Fast, expensive, customs paperwork and fees are often included and handled for you. Ideal for compact shipments.
  • Air Freight: most expensive, yet only option for shipping over-sized products and require fast delivery.


Sophie doesn't order them, rather she sends a few of her first order to her established review network. She does, however, get on a skype call and looks over the product and packaging.


When you go through the ordering process for the first time, Sophie highly recommends getting a member of Amazon's help line to walk you through it to make sure it is correct.

Make sure that your initial shipment is packaged according to Amazon's requirements. (Sophie says that often poly bags are the minimum, which is true according to Amazon's ToS.)

Sophie's Supplier Tips
Be nice to suppliers because you are ultimately in a partnership with them. Don't hurry them much, because nobody wins if they make products that are flawed.

Module 5 - My Primary Takeaways 

One of the most important tips I gathered from Sophie's 5th module was her long-term mindset. 

Rather than bartering with the supplier to get the lowest possible price on the products, Sophie commented that she is pretty "soft" in negotiation, which generally builds a better rapport with suppliers as well as suppliers aren't tempted to skimp on product quality to make up the difference that you "negotiated" from them. 

Additionally, Sophie's method has gotten her better payment terms (paying 50% up front and then being able to pay the other half 2 weeks after her product has arrived at Amazon's warehouse and is in-stock. 



This Module goes into great detail on what Facebook advertising entails. It teaches different methods and ways to implement FB ad campaigns for different niches and products. Both beginners and more advanced drop shippers will find this module valuable.
