Another one of our students does it again.
Building a scalable online business that replaces your current job income is not a pipe dream.
Its possible for all those that acquire the skill sets to do so.
Let me explain…
After I graduated college, I worked for a auto parts supplier company in Michigan where I was only making $35K per year.
After 3 years of working there, I was fed up with working in a boring office, & feeling like I wasn’t getting paid what I was worth so I desperately started looking for opportunities to make money online.
I tried a few things such as network marketing, starting a blog, etc made some money with it but not enough to quit my job and live off of. I kept looking & I was extremely blessed to find the right mentor that taught me how to build my own local lead generation business.
This is when things began to change & change rapidly. Within 6 months, I was making enough money online with lead gen to be able to quit my job in June of 2015 at age 25 and I’ve been self-employed ever since.
Along that journey I’ve learned some crucial lessons that led to my success.
Why Most People Fail in Business
Most people fail in business because they jump into opportunities like network marketing or investing in some kind of business without developing any skills.
In this capitalistic environment you get paid exactly what you’re worth to the marketplace. Your worth is determined by the skills you possess.
The more specialized the skill, the higher the pay.
Plastic surgeon is gonna make more money than a general doctor.
If you want to work for yourself and make good money, you need to develop skills that’s going to allow you to deliver quite a bit of value to the marketplace, chances are its a skill that not too many people possess.
My business mentor Dan Lok calls it high-income skill, which is any skill that allows you to make at least $10K per month.
When you consider the fact that only the top 5% of the population make that kind of income.
You can infer that these skills are going to be pretty challenging to master.
If it was easy, everyone will have it then it wouldn’t be worth so much in the market, right?
This is why people that are seeking some magic formula or the next fad or short cut to success fail because they’re looking at the wrong place for the solution.
Instead of focusing on themselves and how they can become the type of person that’s worthy of 6 figure income.
They’re looking for Short-term, immediate gratification which means they’ll lack the necessary discipline or dedication to develop any high-level skill.
Above athletes have done well with business ventures outside their respective sports, but at the end of the day, its their world class athletic skills that’s at the root of their success.
They win matches & games.
It took them years of obsessive focus on building their skill before any money & fame.
So why do people think entrepreneurship or making money online is somehow different?
Part of it, is a lot of bad information out there online particularly by many so-called gurus that are trying to sell courses and to increase their sales, they want to put a message out there that success will be easy if you get their program.
Its human nature to want things to be easy, but if you want to become truly successful for the long term, you have to develop yourself into that person worthy of that success.
Changing yourself, developing high-level skills takes time and it ain’t easy.
Easy is overrated.
Seeking easy leads to bouncing from 1 business opportunity to another, constantly seeking something outside of yourself to save you so you don’t have to put in the actual work.
A good example is a new network marketing company that promises multi-level compensation plan that’s gonna make you rich & all you have to do is refer friends & family.
Look, I don’t have anything against the network marketing business model, I have an issue with some of the people that promote it like its an easy way to get rich and the people that join that are seeking a short cut.
Again how much money you can make is a direct reflection of your skill levels.
Making your family sign up for a program doesn’t take that much skill. & you won’t be paid very much because you’ll eventually run out of friends & family to talk to. Now what?
However, if you have the skill to recruit strangers through your ability to do face to face sales or you’re good at generating leads online then you have much more likelihood to succeed in network marketing.
Again its not so much the business opportunity but its the level of skills you bring to the table that matters most.
Therefore, if you’re seeking to quit your job.
Seek to invest in developing your skills first.
The Science of Getting Rich & Staying Rich
People get confused about this whole money thing.
How to get rich? but more importantly how to stay rich?
People are working at a job they hate, and investing in stocks, thinking that’s whats gonna make them rich.
When really, if you’re still employed, what you should be doing is investing in developing your skills so that you can work for yourself or build your own business.
When you’re an employee, you’re working hard to build other people’s dreams.
So you’re definitely not being paid what you’re truly worth.
If you found this article, then you’re very aware of this fact & you’re sick and tired of it.
In this video Dan Lok really breaks down the science of how to generate income for yourself.
What you should be investing in depending on where you’re at.
Major key right here…
Basically the wealth triangle is this.
- Top priority is to develop High-Income Skill – Gives you stability in business, because you can always grow your skills & count on yourself to continually make more money. This is you making you money.
- Building a scalable business – if you’re interested in getting rich, make sure the businesses you create are scalable. This is a good system making you money.
- Investment – this is for people that’s making so much money they don’t know what to do with it. This is money making you money.
So when people that’s struggling to get by are investing in stocks, it’s really going against their best interest.
& a lot of people are doing that.
What they really should be doing is investing in developing their skills: courses, hiring a mentor, attending a seminar, etc
or if they have a scalable business, look to invest in marketing.
I couldn’t agree more with Dan Lok’s wealth triangle model.
I wish I was taught this in high school.
Develop Your High-Income Skill First
Hopefully now you understand that you need to go develop high-income skills first to become someone capable of working from home.
The next question you must ask yourself is…
What kind of lifestyle do you want to live?
Dan Lok always says “Its’ not about how much money you make, its about how you make it”
If you’re looking for an opportunity to work from home, chances are you want to be doing something that allows you to work from your laptop.
Chances are you may also value the following:
- make money while traveling / vacation
- be able live anywhere in the world, because your business runs on the internet
- be your own boss
- more time for family & friends
- a business that you can take pride in
- a business that allows you to help people
This is where self-awareness becomes crucial because you gotta know yourself well to go into businesses that best match what you value in life.
You wanna go after a business model that’s going to give you that lifestyle you want.
BTW, I don’t quite buy that “follow your passion & the money will come” shit either
You gotta be realistic & practical here.
If your passion is skateboarding but you don’t have the talent to be pro, then you gotta have enough self-awareness to accept your short comings and seek other ways to make money.
Once again, Your income is determined by the value you bring to the marketplace.
Maybe instead of trying to go pro, you start a youtube channel and start uploading videos of yourself skateboarding & vlogging about the skate life.
Now you’re bringing some value to the market in the form of entertainment & offering your unique perspectives.
Sounds pretty crazy but there’s tons of people out there making great money producing content like this.
What if you don’t particularly have a dead-set passion?
Don’t worry I was on the same boat, sometimes you just jump onto a business model that you feel you can be successful in and you will find things in that business that you’re passionate about.
Which is what happened to me.
I didn’t know if I particularly felt that compelled about generating leads for other businesses, but there’s so many things that go into this process that I became passionate about and today I honestly wake up excited to work on my business.
I don’t wanna be doing nothing else.
I don’t play any video games or hardly watch mindless television like I used to, because I enjoy building my business so much more.
Find other successful people living the lifestyle you want to have, and then simply model after their success.
You can find out what kind of business they’re running online and try to mimic that and learn through trial & error OR you can hire a mentor that’s already at the level you wanna get to and have them walk you through it.
The latter is what I’ve done to successfully build my own local lead generation business.
Why Local Lead Generation Business Worked For Me
Back in 2014, I met my mentor Dan that taught me how to build simple websites, rank it in Google to generate leads with it and then how to sell the leads to a local business.
In this short video, I show you one of my lead gen sites.
As the beginning of the video states.
Every business out there needs lead generation because without it you don’t have anyone to sell your product or services to.
It doesn’t matter how good your service is, if people don’t know you exist then you can’t make any money.
A lot of small business owners are faced with this dilemma today.
They invest a lot of capital and get into a business but they have no idea how to do marketing for their business.
IMO marketing is like 50% of running a business.
As more and more of their customers are using the internet to seek out products & services, many of these local business owners are desperately seeking for help with online marketing.
They’re too busy running the day to day operations of their business, they know online marketing is important but they have no idea where to get help for it because they certainly don’t have the time to learn it themselves.
Therefore, lead generation is a high-income skill that is very much in high demand in 2020.
Which is why the students inside our lead generation coaching program have such high success rates.
We are taught skills that are much higher level than 99% of marketers out there.
Its not social media marketing which anyone can learn to do by watching some youtube videos.
Its the skill of ranking a site organically for certain buyer intent keywords that converts to paying customers.
The skill to go into any city or niche and begin generating phone calls from customers within matter of weeks to few months, by using free traffic.
Not paid ads.
I’ve been able to do it over and over again since 2015, now my lead gen business does $50K per month and its mostly on auto-pilot, passive income.
Now my results are one of the highest in the group, partly because I’ve been doing it full time since 2015.
When I started in late 2014, I was able to build my business to $3500 per month in 6 months to where I could quit my job. Since then I’ve grown my business by leaps and bounds, now I have 4 people working for me.
People are constantly talking about working on your mindset to be successful.
Well, I’ve been reading self-development books since 2011, it wasn’t until I developed actual skills that I was able to begin producing real life results.
Mindset is only half the equation. Once you got the mindset, you need skills.
I believe the fastest way to develop those skills and that business is to invest in mentor-ship.
I know for a fact, that I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if I chose not to invest in Dan’s mentor-ship program in 2014.
The program teaches you a high-income skill of online lead generation and then it teaches you how to build a scalable business around it.
Students do really well because they’re taught a valuable skill that most people don’t have AND its highly sought after by people with money which are business owners.
This gives you such a huge leg up when starting your own business.
This is how you build a real sustainable business with stability, by building it around a skill that’s in high demand and complex enough that most people can’t figure out.
This is the key ingredients required to work from home and tell your boss bye-bye.
Once you get it, the realization is gonna hit you like a ton of bricks.
Like it did for Jeremy
If you wanna live like a rockstar.
Then you better have rockstar-level skills.
Go here for the training you need to become that guy/gal that’s capable of delivering tremendous value to the marketplace.
