Savage Affiliates - The COMPLETE Review

MODULE 9: EMAIL MARKETING

Hey there guys, here we go with the FINAL installation of Savage Affiliates!

If you've made it this far, you're a fast reader and very inquisitive!

So, this module deals with some really interesting ways to take the leads you've received and slowly monetize them over the course of a few weeks to many months.

In Franklin's case, he's got email lists that have been buying from him since day one, and it's been years!

Lesson 1-Introduction

The first thing you need to know about email marketing is that it can definitely make you some good money.

Franklin actually shows you two programs he uses for his email marketing campaigns, often referred to as a drip campaign.

One of them is a lot cheaper, he says, and he’s actually switching over to it.

He says that a lot of email marketing programs don’t let you do affiliate marketing.

Sounds pretty familiar, huh?

MailChimp is one of them, so don’t even go there, homeslice.

Franklin shows some of his stats to prove that he gets sales from this type of platform.

One of his campaigns got over $7,000 of sales in 30 days!

Another for $2,000 which is still a very nice little chunk of change for something so simple.

Lesson 2 - The Landing Pages You Don't Want

Here, he talks about landing pages inside of the email platforms.

Specifically, the ones that aren’t any good.

Basically, any of the landing pages that you find in the email marketing platforms are not going to be ideal for affiliate marketing.

Franklin does say, however, that you might consider using the landing page creators in these email platforms for things like discounts on your own courses (should you ever go that route.)

The landing page plugin that he’s already shown us in a past lesson is much better, hence it being the one he actually uses himself.

Lesson 3 - Getting Your Email Marketing Software Started

Now’s the time to start getting your email marketing campaign setup.

Franklin very quickly talks about how you should structure your email campaigns for solo ads campaigns and Facebook traffic.

Solo ads, for example, should probably have an offer pretty quickly because your open rate drops off very quickly.

He talks about hitting pain points when sending your value emails, since that’s the reason people like your content in the first place.

Franklin shows you how to setup your software, and also briefly talks about an important legality.

Namely, you have to provide an email address when sending email campaigns.

And that’s pretty much the only requirement.

He then continues, showing you some of the settings you should select when setting up your email campaigns.

One of them is optional, and that’s whether you want your readers to confirm an opt-in when receiving your emails.

Franklin says you can go either way with this, however you may get more spam flags if you deactivate the opt-in.

Lesson 4 - Automate, Dominate

So we know that we’re gonna be building a list, then sending out emails automatically to those addresses, right?

Well, in this lesson Franklin teaches you exactly how to do that without going crazy while sending thousands of emails manually.

Now, if you know anything about email marketing, you probably think he’s talking about autoresponders.

And frankly, that’s what I was expecting while taking this course.

However, he says there’s a WAY better way to do it!

Crazy, huh?

The way to do it is called a workflow, and pretty much every email platform nowadays should have a way to do it.

The cool thing about a workflow is that you build out a huge diagram of the emails and the automation steps.

Now, the important part about this whole operation is that you’re able to take more control over what they do, rather than a simple daily email campaign that you have zero control over.

For example, if they don’t open any given email, you can hit them with another email four or five hours later and try to get them to open it.

You set this up just like any other email marketing campaign, sending a number of emails week after week and alternating between value and sending out offers to your list.

As a matter of fact, after seeing the amount of control you have when using a workflow, you’ll probably never consider an autoreponder again.

Franklin then shows you the process of setting up an email, including how to name the “free PDF” or whatever offer.

He then shows you how to test the message to make sure that it’s set up properly, and shows you how to drop your spam score by about one or two points.

Then comes the sweet part.

Franklin sets up a workflow and walks you through it step by step.

Then comes the process of setting up triggers such as “when this email is opened…”

After that, you do a primary and secondary option.basically saying that “if the first email is NOT opened, wait five hours and then send THIS.”

On the other hand, if the email WAS opened, you can wait a day and then send another email over.

Giving value can be as easy as sending a link to a YouTube video that isn’t even your content, saying something like “hey, check out this video on YouTube, I really like it and think you should check it out!”

He then continues, waiting another day and continuing the workflow.

In fact, by the end of this video there really wasn’t any question in my mind if I could build out a campaign by myself.

Finally, Franklin shows you how to send out your campaign and get it started.

Oh, and all the extra bells and whistles that you don’t need?

He tells you what to stay away from, saying that there’s no reason to get into it right now.

And you’re done!

Lesson 5 - Creating A Newsletter

This is where you want to start talking to your list about new product launches and things of that nature.

He then very expertly walks you through the process of building out one of these emails, finding a product launch on a resource that he shares with you, and copy-pasting the email swipe that is offered for this product.

Finally, Franklin ends the lesson by saying that most marketers send emails once or twice a day, so you don’t need to worry about sending too much!

Lesson 6 - Email Open Rates

Here, Franklin lays it down, talking about a thing that really annoys him about online marketers, and telling us what words we should NEVER use in an email.

Okay, sounds interesting.

Let’s dive into it!

He starts by discussing some of the theory behind open rates, talking about how you typically get a high open rate at the beginning of a campaign.

He also says that in the case of personal branding, this is the place to make a first impression so people are more likely to open the next email.

He shows how his campaign starts off at a 50% open rate, and slowly dwindles down to about 10% over the course of a month or so.

Most industries are going to be looking at a 10-20% open rate, says Franklin.

Seems reasonable.

So what are those words he tells us not to use in our emails?

Things like “money back guarantee” are in this list, surprisingly!

And you know what’s crazy?

It only takes about five people marking your email as spam to get ALL your emails delivered to the junk folder!

Can you believe that?

That can easily happen within the first few emails, according to Franklin.

So the name of the game is giving value, and not appearing too spammy.

Seems obvious, but sometimes we can lost sight of what’s important to our customer base.

So what happens when your open rates start to plummet and you can’t seem to get any action?

Franklin says that once every month or so he’ll change his email address, go into the email platform and change it there as well…

And guess what happens.

His open rate skyrockets.

He says that regardless of the platform you use, the only thing that matter is that your emails are getting delivered.

It’s not their fault, maybe your emails are just going into junk folders.

Another means of jacking your open rate is by changing up your subject lines.

Lesson 7 - Email Platform Walkthrough

So here, Franklin talks about his favorite email platform that’s not only incredibly cheap but also powerful and easy to use.

What I won’t do is tell you the name of this platform because I don’t want to tell you his secrets.

He basically gives you a quick rundown of the platform, saying that you can actually put codes on your product pages (if you have your own products) and track things such as the lifetime value of a client, revenue, and the average value of a contact for your business.

Overall it’s pretty powerful stuff once you get to the point of zeroing in on every little thing.

This platform is remarkably simply compared to other similar email autoresponders and workflow builders so it’s definitely a great tip.

Lesson 8 - ClickFunnels Automation Funnel

Okay, so this lesson seems to mostly be about building a funnel specifically to sell ClickFunnels and the accompanying books.

It’s funny because while Franklin prefers to use Thrive Leads the WordPress plugin, he is an affiliate for ClickFunnels.

He says that you can make a lot of money selling their products, and shows you exactly how to sign up for their affiliate program.

He shows you what’s so great about their program, and gives you some solid strategies to make some good money promoting ClickFunnels.

One of the things he says produces some really good results for this is solo ads.

Basically, you do the typical opt-in page with a free giveaway, then you ding them over the head with a sales offer.

Boom!

He actually explains this funnel extremely well, so it wouldn’t hurt for somebody to go ahead and run this just to try and make some quick money while learning the necessary skills to build other campaigns from scratch.

I mean, he really lays it down step by step.

Even if you have ZERO desire to be a ClickFunnels affiliate, it’s a good idea to watch this video anyway because it shows you an entire funnel build from start to finish.

Module 9 - My Key Takeaways

This is a hugely pivotal module upon which MUCH of the other marketing methods rely to be effective.

Some of the biggest culprits are paid ads, from Facebook and Google all the way to solo ads.

So although there's been plenty of training about building up the funnels and some iumportant concepts about how to structure your email campaigns...

There hasn't been any training for the actual tech yet.

Thankfully, Franklin breaks this down quite nicely for you, and that's why this is such a great module for those who aren't sure which email platforms to use.

CONTENT QUALITY 90%

Content: 9/10 A very important part of the entire system.

Without this knowledge, you'll struggle to do your email marketing.

Unless of course you're already an expert with this type of thing.

OVERALL 90%

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF MODULE 9

I personally got a lot of value out of this module.

It's short and to the point, which was also to my liking.

If you know how to do things like build a workflow, then you probably won't get as much value out of it.

Even so, I recommend giving it a run through because Franklin talks about things like waiting 5 hours after an unopened email to send a follow-up.
