So you want the DL on Valiant Consultants FBA system, eh?

We've got a lot to talk about.

If you google Steven Mayer's name, you're bound to come up with some pretty interesting facts.

And the cool thing is, not all of them are unicorns and rainbows. Mayer has been pretty open about his failures along the road of his entrepreneurial journey.

You should always be wary of anyone who isn't forthcoming about the difficult side of entrepreneurship. It does come with its fair share of challenges, and you gotta have grit to overcome them and push forward.

In this post, I examine the Amazon Automation Service by Steve Mayer, under the company name of Valiant Consultants

Amazon FBA is pretty complex, and can be intimidating to beginners. So his His DFU (Done-For-You) FBA service can be really enticing.

But is Valiant Consultants really what you need to push your online business to the next level?

Is Mayer the guy who can help you avoid all of the typical mistakes that entrepreneurs make and lead you to the success you've always dreamed of?

If I were you, I'd think long and hard before making a decision, because there are some risks you definitely won't want to ignore. I'll get into the Valiant Consultants Inc. reviews towards the end of this article.

We'll dive into Steven's DFU Amazon FBA model in a moment. But first, let's talk about what makes me qualified to review this in the first place.

A lil bit about me... My name is Ippei...

In 2014, I joined a lead generation coaching program that freed me from my 9-5 in 7 months. After learning the ins and outs of the biz, I started building and ranking simple websites that generate leads for local businesses (who give me a sliver to deliver.)

After I scaled my lead gen biz to 7 figures, I branched out to experiment with Amazon FBA (there was a ton of hype around it in 2017.)

To make a long story short, I built a couple brands up to 6 figures, but Amazon wasn't passive enough for my liking (interferes with my wanderlust), and didn't generate half the profit margins of my lead gen business, so I sold out as of January 2020.

Now I focus my time on developing my lead gen business as well as this blog.

...and now, as promised, let's dive into the service offered by Valiant Consultants.

Valiant Consultants Review

Founder: Steve Mayer

Steve Mayer worked for a credit repair company before getting involved on Amazon in 2013. 

He spent 12 months and thousands of dollars trying to figure out Amazon FBA. 

He finally had his "eureka!" moment when he found a unique product selection method for Amazon FBA.

Then he was cooking with grease.

But he didn't keep his profitable secrets to himself. He started helping other sellers in Amazon seller Facebook groups, which was when things really started to snow ball.

He soon realized that he needed to take things to the next level and develop a system. So he developed a one-on-one coaching program for Amazon FBA sellers.

His consultation practice evolved into one-on-ten coaching program as more interest came his way. 

In order to reach more people, Steve created a course, FBA Freedom Hackers Academy, to help others get started selling on Amazon. It now sells for just under $3k. 

His results speak for themselves.

Steve has helped hundreds of students--2 have generated millions, 100 earn six figures, and almost half of the students have been able to quit their dreaded 9-5 jobs. 

But he wasn't finished. 

Upon seeing many of his students struggle to learn the FBA process, Steve began to look into ways he could help them further. 

In 2019, Mayer joined a group of Amazon Automation specialists who had created a company of 150+ virtual assistants based out of Bangladesh and the Philippines. Utilizing this group, Mayer was able to offer Done-For-You Amazon Services to the tune of $30k-$40k per store (as a set up fee, inventory is extra.)

In early 2020, Steven pivoted his business. Not in response to COVID-19, but for a different reason. 

He had the following realization:

Amazon Dropshipping was not a viable business model. And he was going to need to make a change.

What did he switch to? 

Amazon FBA Wholesale.

The difference between Dropshipping and Wholesaling on Amazon comes down to inventory.

If you are dropshipping, you have no inventory. Instead, as soon as your product is bought, you buy from a cheaper source, and then have the product shipped directly to your customer.

If you are wholesaling, you purchase inventory in bulk from a manufacturer or supplier, and then have it shipped to Amazon's fulfillment center so it can be delivered speedily to your customers. 

Why did Steven shift from Dropshipping to Wholesaling on Amazon? 

First of all, Dropshipping on Amazon is against their TOS (terms of service), so anyone doing so is risking an account suspension.

That's what happened to many of Valiant Consultants customers.

They'd send Steven the set up fee of $30k and then a few months later, their account would go the way of the dinosaur. #extinction

So Steven got all kinds of complaints and Valiant Consultants lawsuit threats were made everywhere (see his BBB reviews below), which ultimately motivated him to make the move from Dropshipping to Wholesale FBA. 

Where can you find Steven as of January 2021?

Steven Mayer's got about 11.7k subscribers on YouTube. It's got some nice pics on it, but as of now, he hasn't really been active on it recently. it's been almost a year since his last video, which is kind of an eternity in the online business world.

Mayer's Instagram page is private, although it enjoys a healthy following of 379k people. But with 66 posts, it doesn't seem that he's that active on here either. I guess he's just not much of a social media guy.

Now that we've got his introduction out of the way, let's get into the nuts and bolts of Valiant Consultants.


What Valiant Consultants Does For You (In-depth)

Step 1: Product Research

Amazon sells more than 350 million different products and has 6,000 different categories in their product directory. 

Everyone knows that the product(s) you select will make or break your Amazon Business, so it's crucial that you select profitable items. (This is especially important if you're just getting started.)

Now there are many ways to do this and many different helpful product selection tools that speed up the selection process....but all that takes time to learn and money for the tool subscriptions (which is why some people take up Steven's offer to have the whole process done for them.)

Step 2: Listing Construction

Once you've chosen your product, it's time to show it off in an item listing.

And you may think that simply means posting a picture and a few descriptive words. 

But you're not gonna get off that easy.

You'll need to take photos that pop out to the mobile shoppers, and use keywords that boost your listing to the top of the search results faster than you can drag over a chair to reach the top cupboards in your kitchen. 

Step 3: Supplier Selection + Inventory Management

Once you've selected your product, the next item on your to-do list is to decipher which supplier you'd like to place an order from. 

As you are making that decision, you must take into account whether you'll want to ship from overseas or from your own country (which basically comes down to deciding whether you want to save time by shipping nationally, or spend less money by getting your product from China.)

Step 4: Order Processing + Returns

You like paperwork, right? Doesn't everyone?

Not.

But that's what this next step comes down to. 

Each order has to be taken in, and set up with a tracking number

And if your customer asks for a return, it's in the best interests of your reputation as a seller if you give them their money back. 

Step 5: Order Tracking (Shipped, Delivered, etc.)

What if your customer claims they never received their product? How can you figure out what happened?

That's right.

This is where all of that work you put into that dreaded paperwork pays off.

Those tracking numbers are EXTREMELY important.

And as you build up your business, you'll have to track thousands of products coming and going. Lots of details. #spreadsheets

Step 6: Customer Service + Collect Customer Reviews

We've all done it.

You're trying to decide between two different products or two different companies, and you spring for the one with the better reviews.

It's not even a question that reviews are very important to the success of a business.

So how can you encourage your customers to leave reviews?

Often you have to set up a review funnel using either an email follow up system or a product information card packed on the top of your product. 

Amazon's TOS is very particular on how you ask for the review, so watch your step and avoid stepping on Bezo's toes (because disobedience could mean a suspension of your seller account, and that means your "passive income" dries up faster than a waterhole in the Sahara.) 

Step 7: Scaling Your Amazon Store

This is the promised land, the phase that you want the store to get to, when you finally see a return on your investment.

This is where it gets interesting. I always like to check out what kind of feedback can be found online. For Mayer's program, I found A LOT. And as you'll see, Valiant Consultants' amazon service reviews are quite...colorful.

Beau Crabill (who sells an Amazon Course) has nothing good to say about Steve.

The Valiant Consultants testimonials have been a little all over the place, but Beau Crabill (who is well-known and trusted in the Amazon business community) goes as far as to say that it's an absolute scam. 

Definitely not a good look.

4. Valiant Consultants BBB Profile Rating and Most Recent Review

What's odd is, Valiant Consultants used to be BBB Accredited not too long ago, but that page is now gone and this is the one that now shows up on the website for the company. People have been wondering if Valiant Consultants has gone out of business (the answer is nope, in fact, the Valiant Consultants website is still up and kickin') and I wonder if this is why.

The stats on this page are not a great sign. Low customer review score and an F from the BBB. But sometimes the rating itself doesn't tell the whole story, so it's best to read the customer feedback to see if some valid points are raised.

Yikes!

Talk about a total nightmare. As discussed earlier, Mayer's program doesn't come cheap. Anyone considering it who comes across feedback like this would probably run for the hills.

And I wouldn't blame them.

Unfortunately, if you keep reading, you'll find even more negative Valiant Consultants amazon automation reviews, one after another. 


Pros and Cons 

Of using a Done4You Amazon Automation Service

Pros

  • NO learning curve
  • 99% Passive

Cons

  • Often $25-40k in upfront cost
  • Requires a SUPER high level of trust in the provider
Conclusion:

When it comes to Steve Mayer's "Valiant Consultants," he's got a solid (and growing) number of reviews that say his services are less than trustworthy. It's impossible for me to ignore such glaring negative feedback, so unfortunately there's no way that I can recommend this to anyone who is looking for a DFU Amazon FBA solution. But if you've got the $25k reaaaaaally burning a hole in your pocket....yeah no, sorry. I'd still have to encourage you to spend your money elsewhere. (I've even heard some rumors about a possible Valiant Consultants class action lawsuit, so unfortunately, it's just not something I can recommend to you guys.)


I sold products on Amazon for 3 years (2016-2019), which makes me say enthusiastically: Be careful, should you choose to do the complete DFU Amazon FBA. There's some legit service providers and there's others who will just take your money and walk (scam artists.)

  • Passive once Ranked - Just Deposit Mailbox Money

After scaling my lead gen business to $35k each month, my fomo got the better of me and I hopped on the FBA train in 2016. 

And while having a business on Amazon was quite the adventure, it wasn't a very profitable one.

When I look back, my Amazon business was way more vulnerable than my leadgen business is, because if your seller account is suspended (which means your sales stop) your "automated Amazon income machine" grinds to a screeching halt and then you can no longer pay your bills or support your family.
