Is Amazon FBA As Easy As KT Hustles Says?
Amazon FBA is as easy as KT Hustles says if you’re already an experienced Amazon seller. According to KT Hustles, you can get your first $100k online with 5 easy steps. These are:
- Creating a seller account in Amazon
- Use SellerAmp to find profitable products
- Buy the product on big retail stores like Target and Walmart
- Add your label to these products
- Send the products to Amazon warehouse for fulfillment
KT Hustles’ strategy is to bulk buy established brands like CeraVe and Neutrogena from big retailers. Then, he’ll list that on Amazon at a marked up price. What makes this difficult for beginners are the Amazon gated and restricted categories. These are products that require extra documentation and proof to sell on Amazon. You will need an invoice from manufacturers or distributors. And not from retailers like Walmart. There are no general requirements to sell gated products. You'll need to research and secure possible documents or risk waiting for months for approval.
Some categories will also require you to pay more fees. According to Hopstock, Amazon FBA sellers say more than half of their revenue goes to Amazon fees. Experienced Amazon FBA sellers also have the advantage of established supplier relationships. This lets them buy products with special discounts. So their profit margin increases.

She used to own a car repair shop back in Belarus, but had to close it after she migrated. She transitioned to online entrepreneurship and learned about Amazon FBA through KT. Kate chose this business because of its low barriers to entry and lower capital needed. The flexibility of work allowed her to manage her time according to her terms.

It's a complex and time-consuming process. Kate mentioned you need to analyze data and check customer reviews to gauge market potential.
What's not mentioned in the video: Kate claims to have made $70K in 2 months with Amazon FBA. However, she did not mention how much of it was net profit. It's a good number considering she just started as a no-experience beginner.
Is KT Hustles Worth It?
KT Hustles is worth it if you get direct access to him. Since he’s a 7-figure Amazon seller, he’ll have tips on how to get ungated. It’ll also be worth it if he can provide lists of suppliers who can make quality products and documentation. According to Seller Sprite, it can take days to weeks to get ungated. However, redditors all agree that being ungated is all worth it. The gating process benefits Amazon sellers since it acts as a filter and barrier to entry. Once you get ungated, you’ll get access to markets that regularly buy things like beauty or baby products.
Is Amazon FBA Very Profitable?
Amazon FBA is very profitable if you're selling on profitable niches like pet and baby products. According to AdBadger, Amazon FBA owners earn as high as $25,000 per month. And, Contimod reported 6 out of 10 Amazon sellers become profitable in 1 year. Tyler Davis shared he started Amazon FBA in 2022 and reached $50k profit in a year. Although he notes that it has a steep learning curve and ongoing challenges.
What Risks Are Involved With Amazon FBA?
The risks involved with Amazon FBA are tight competition and account suspension. Since anyone can start Amazon FBA, it means there are new competitors every day. In fact, according to Jungle Scout, there are 3,700 new sellers every day. Currently, there are 2.5 million 3rd party Amazon sellers as per Helium 10. Even if you have a good product in a profitable niche, it’ll require constant work to keep your store above the rest.
If you’re just starting, you’ll be competing with established sellers in the niche. And even against Amazon itself. Amazon Elements, Amazon Basics and Amazon Fresh are all Amazon brands you’re competing with in different niches. There are also products that are under gated or restricted categories. According to a redditor, there are even products that are gated only in specific seasons. So, you’ll have to constantly look out for your products or you risk account suspension.
Is There a Better Alternative To Amazon FBA?
Local lead generation is a better alternative to Amazon FBA because it has lower capital requirement and potential for passive income. The biggest hurdle for Amazon FBA sellers is competition. They will always have to find the next best product before everybody else copies it. And if they’re selling branded products, they will have to face the gated and restricted categories of Amazon. And after all of that, if they get approved, they will have to list their products and run ads. It’s a cycle.
With local lead generation, you’re creating websites for local service providers. You use local SEO to rank on search results. Then you’ll refer those leads to local business owners for a monthly fee. Because it’s local, you’re only competing with 15 to 30 business owners at most. And you can rank on search results within 3 to 6 months. Once you’re ranking and renting out the local lead gen site, the income becomes passive.
According to Seller Sessions, Amazon FBA success rate is between 11% to 25%. However, local lead generation’s success rate is 35% and it increases the more websites you build. And it’s easy to build more websites too because you can do it with $500. Whereas the average capital to start an Amazon FBA business is $3.5k to $5k. You will also deal with PPC ads on Amazon FBA. But with local lead gen, you’re leveraging organic traffic using local SEO. So, if you’re looking for a better business idea to try this 2024, local lead generation is your best option.
I sent for a $1 recap of KT Hustles. Besides the $1 I was also charged $97 two times. I want my money back but have not found a way to actually get in touch with this person. They seem to be scammers.
