There are tons of student testimonials on Matt Par’s website that praise the contents of the course and Matt’s active mentorship. Matt actively asks his students to send him a testimonial video when they finish his course so he can use it for proof that it is indeed legit. However, I couldn’t find any real-world examples of how much the students actually make.
In this transcript of Abdullah’s testimonial for example, he talked about how great the course was after only just recently finishing it. The other testimonials seem to all follow this trend. It appears that the testimonials were created immediately after finishing the course, without even testing if they could actually generate income with what they learned. I didn’t find any success stories anywhere, so it’s hard to say if students of this course have seen any success.
Scam Allegations
There have been some people calling Matt Par and his Tube Mastery and Monetization course a scam. The allegations point out that Matt does not disclose the name of his successful channels, leading many to question his legitimacy. They also point out that Matt’s YouTube play button plaques appear fake. These scam allegations rose out of the lack of transparency between Matt and his audience. Matt has since posted a video addressing these allegations.
A YouTuber named Savannah Marie did a review of these allegations and on Matt on her channel. She highlighted that Matt defended his decision to hide his channel names in order to avoid people from copying it. Matt also showed a video of him refreshing his YouTube analytics page, while blurring out the channel name, to show that he earns as much as he claims.
Accusations of Matt’s YouTube play button awards being fake is because of the name on the plaques, not being that of his channel. Savannah points out that while most YouTubers get the award with their channel name, you can actually opt to customize the name on the plaque as per YouTube policy. She also talked about how people have been criticizing the contents of the course being generic and similar to other YouTube gurus that are linked to Matt. If you do not have the skills or the time to learn the skills needed to create videos, you can outsource every part of the process at the cost of additional risks. A channel needs 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers in the last 12 months to qualify for monetization through YouTube's partner program.
