Who Are Owen Cook & Julien Blanc?

Owen and Julien are two entrepreneurs focused on self transformation.

They're basically dating coaches.

They've had a strong online presence teaching men from all over the world what they need to do to be successful with women.

Unfortunately, Owen, A.K.A. RSD Tyler, and Julien have both been the subject of some very questionable content they put out when it comes to "scoring" with women.

It was so bad that their questionable content was a hot topic in the news back in 2014.

Why?

Apparently, what they were teaching in their program were methods that seemed to be sexual harassment and straight up sexual abuse.

Some of the things they taught in their lessons were about how to pick up women using emotional tricks and even physical force.

At one of their events, called a bootcamp, Owen spoke about what his encounter with a stripper was at one time.

According to what he said, he basically had sex with her without her being willing to.

Some crazy stuff here.

Julien also posted some very questionable content online.

The images and videos he posted were of him choking women.

The digital man-hunt began for these two.

It was so bad that even Julien had a whole group of people online trying to shut all of his shows down. 

They were successful.

First, in Australia and then in other countries.

There were online protests and petitions going around such as the one on Change.org that was setup by online activist, Jennifer Li.

BBC news even called Julien, The Most Hated Man in the World.

Countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and Australia banned all of the live RSD events.

Owen, who started to call himself, Tyler Durden, Brad Pitt's character in the famous movie Fight Club, actually couldn't be barred from the RSD events in Canada because he's a Canadian citizen.

Julien did appear on CNN to publicly apologize while being interviewed by Chris Cuomo.

He was definitely on the hot seat.

Owen, or Papa as he's called, didn't have much to say when it was all going down. 

Ever since then, Real Social Dynamics hasn't been the same.

These days, Owen Cook and Julien Blanc still continue to put out content through their social media channels.

Without a doubt, their content is much more politically correct now than it ever was.

To some, it may seem that Julien and the members at Real Social Dynamics sold out by apologizing and not defending themselves much.

RSD's content includes videos and products which explored how people behaved differently in social situations. It emphasized the difference between confident 'alpha' and less confident 'beta' behaviors.

Even though Owen and Julien were accused of some crazy things, there were some aspects of this program that were actually not crazy and can be considered beneficial.

To be quite honest, I already knew some of the things they taught.

So, it wasn't anything really new.

If anything, going through this program actually made me realize I didn't have to do anything else that was special.

In a nutshell, everything that you learn in the RSD program is mostly about how you need to change your mindset so that you can succeed in any scenario.

Let's get into some of the more important core mindset topics you'll learn when you dive in and invest in RSD.

You're Never A Finished Product

This is a good thing everyone should keep in mind.

As we know, none of us are perfect.

Therefore, we aren't immediately going to be the smartest or the best when it comes to dealing with, or trying to pick up, women.

Someone is always going to be better than us.

That doesn't mean that we're lost causes and can never be better.

Not at all.

If you can accept that there's always something to learn, you're going to have a much more positive mindset in life overall.

As a result, you won't be too hard on yourself.

If you think you already know-it-all, then you're really only going to be holding yourself back from leveling up and being a better person.

Answer me this.

Not at all.

There are so many different personalities that exist in this world.

That should be proof enough that there is always something for you to learn in life.

One type of approach may work with one women, but that same approach may be a complete turnoff for another one.

That's just how it goes.

Then factor in what approaches may or may not work for women of a certain age.

There's a lot more to this game than you think.

The world is also always changing too which adds more variables to "the game".

You're not a finished product.

Once you establish that, take responsibility, man up, learn and be better next time.

Don't be afraid to fail.

If you can get to that point, you'll then be able to make any necessary adjustments to your game.

Don't worry.

You're not the only guy that's happened to.

My simple advice is, be yourself.

How is reading a book or two going to help you score with women?

This is one of those things that won't actually get you laid by just reading a book.

There's more to it than that.

When you read, you're educating yourself.

As you continue to educate yourself, you'll be surprised at how you'll have much more things to talk about.

Of course, it all depends on the type of woman you talk to.

When you read, you put yourself in a position to be more successful overall in life.

The fact of the matter is that, more often than not...

Women gravitate to the more successful guys.

Yea they may have more material things to offer, but they can also offer more intellectually.

Tyler does a good job encouraging you to pick up a book or two every now and then to put something of substance in your brain.

I would have to agree with this method.

I've read plenty of books myself.

I obviously love business and I'm always trying to level my skills up.

What better way to do that than by reading.

If you take the time to meditate and think about what's more important in life, you'll be able to think clearly when it comes time to make decisions.

Focus on those things on a daily basis and you might even find out that scoring with women isn't the most important thing in life.

Yea it's necessary, but I personally rather focus on building my family relationships, scaling my lead generation business and being an overall better human.

I came from a woman, how could I not?

My point is, guys need to not get so desperate over trying to be a "mack-daddy" and just, DO YOU.

Meditation can be a great way to help you focus on what's important first.

The women will come if you have everything in order.

Just be cool bro.

Eating Healthy

Tyler and Julien don't have a section that talks about how to eat healthy or what to eat, but they do point out how important it is to do so.

When you eat healthy, you feel better.

That's a fact.

When you feel better, you're able to be more productive in your business as well.

Again, focus on you first.

The women will come.

Think about it.

If you focus on eating well, set goals for yourself fitness/business-wise, you're not only going to feel good, but you're going to look good too.

Yea, many people say looks don't matter.

Truth is, they do matter.

Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

What else does eating healthy say about you?

It says that you're the type of guy who's well in control of his life.

If you take care of yourself, a woman is going to feel much more inclined to believe that you can take care of her as well.

Even if it's just for a night.

Eating healthy shows discipline.

Women love men who are disciplined.

All women are different, yes.

Still though, if you're conscious of your eating habits, you'll see the results in a variety of ways.

I just recommend you do this for you.

This is one of the topics Julien and Owen talk about that I agree with.

If you're able to prove with your actions that you're not relying on women to amuse you, that will draw women to you.

In psychology, they call that emotional contagion.

This really is an art.

How can you be successful at it?

Well, it doesn't have to be anything big or extravagant.

You can do this by simply making fun of yourself through certain comments.

If you can laugh at yourself, that will lighten the mood big time and show a woman that you're actually very confident about yourself.

Be a confident man.

This is a phrase that you hear all the time.

"Take Action"

"Take Massive Action"

You'll hear those sayings in mostly in each and every online marketing course.

It's for a reason.

This applies to every aspect of life.

If you don't take the first steps toward becoming better when talking to women, you're never going to be better.

Now, you have to be careful about one thing though.

Although Owen and Julien preach that you need to take massive action, you need to focus more on taking the right action.

This ain't just any kind of buckwild action.

For example, if you said to yourself that you wanted to become a professional baseball player but you never watched any games on TV or in person...

You go to the park, but never play a full game...

All you do is just run around the field throwing a ball in the air.

Do you really think you're doing what's necessary to achieve your goal?

Heck no!

There are things you need to focus on and be more strategic about.

The same thing goes for pickup.

Anyone can go to the club and muster up the courage to talk to every single girl until one actually gives you the time of day.

Is that really productive though?

No.

No it isn't.

Guys need to focus on being strategic.

Going to every girl at the club is counter-productive.

Don't be afraid to learn from your mistakes and try different approaches.

Try not even approaching anyone. You could literally just enjoy the time with your boys.

Over the course of the night you'll be surprised to find out that some women were scoping you out.

Maybe you make some eye contact and smile.

If so, that breaks the ice with women and you don't come off looking like a desperate 14 year-old boy.

If you don't get ahead of yourself, that woman might even come over to you.

Strategy.

In my experience, that is the best way to attract women.

Just do you.

All in all, Real Social Dynamics does teach some important things that you can apply in your life.

Now, there are a few things where myself and what's taught in RSD are at odds.

Let me explain.

Where I Disagree With RSD

Yea, let's take a timeout here.

Surprisingly, although I do think that Owen and Julien teach a variety of effective methods, the truth is that none of it is information that maybe you don't already know or that you can't go and research yourself on Google or YouTube.

The majority of people who search 'Owen Cook Course' and who buy RSD products are guys in their young 20s that don't know much about dating or women.

This was more for them.

I was already doing most of what they teach.

From not thinking too much of myself to reading books, taking massive strategic action and watching what I eat.

This was more like a refresher course for me.

I'm not saying I'm perfect here.

I only mean that this info wasn't anything out of this world to me.

There were a few parts that I definitely didn't agree with and still don't.

Let me talk a bit about those points.

1. Your Looks Don't Matter

I'm sorry but this just ain't true.

I don't think it's ever been true to be honest.

Looks absolutely do matter.

How often you "score" with women has to do with how you look.

Not just physically but also how you dress, what your social status is and how much money you have.

That's the straight up truth.

I feel that this is just a lie told to you only because the Real Social Dynamics program really can't solve people's physical issues.

What they do in the program is tell you that you can only solve your issues by making changes to your mindset and by how you talk to women because that's what their program can try to help you solve.

I think that's BS.

You have to take care of yourself and do your best to look your best.

That ain't rocket science.

Owen and Julien are dead wrong about that.

I encourage you to make sure you invest in yourself and your appearance.

Looks ain't everything...

But they're not nothing, so don't ignore how you look.

2. The Infield Videos Come Off A Bit Deceptive

How do I mean?

There's obviously plenty of cutting and editing in the videos where the "pros" like Julien and Owen are in the "field" trying to get women.

They make it seem in their videos as if they get laid every single time they go out.

Truth is, most times, they don't end up getting laid by any of the females in their videos they shoot.

There were rumors of the RSD instructors paying hired actresses to play a role and make it seem like these guys were successful.

I don't know how true that is.

What I do believe is that what they post ain't all what they make it out to be.

Like I said before, there are so many types of women with different personalities.

You have to approach each one differently.

If they were all the same...

Would any guys have issues picking up women?

Exactly.

It all really seems a bit sketchy to me which is something that turned me off while going through the program.

3. Bad Treatment Within The Group

What am I referring to?

If you're the type of person who actually has a bit of a different idea or viewpoint about something these guys teach, you can expect to get banned from their forums and even their Facebook group.

What they say goes.

Going against what they say to them is like messing with their money.

I get it, but, isn't this all about being a better man?

There should be a healthy dialogue when it comes to self improvement.

Rumors are, RSD also have a bad rep for treating their employees like trash too.

I definitely felt that there was a lot of negativity oozing from the Real Social Dynamics camp in all shapes and sizes.

Final Verdict

Contrary to what you might find on Quora or Reddit, in my opinion, there's no need to invest in this course because you're not going to learn anything new.

Everything taught here can be found on Google or YouTube.

You can even learn plenty of things from Owen Cook and Julien Blanc's YouTube channels.

There, you'll find content on their channels that you can browse at your own pace.

New content is released, but truthfully, it's all recycled content.

My Thoughts On Dating

I''ve been in the "game" for a while now and have seen the large amount of pickup programs that are out there.

The majority of those programs teach you that you need to mainly change up your mindset above all else so that you can be in the best position to talk to women.

They teach that for you to truly have success with women, you need to learn how to talk to them.

I disagree.

If you can get to the point where you're financially successful, your overall confidence will no doubt show.

That's attractive to women.

These gurus and their programs are all focused on teaching surface level kiddie stuff like what to say to a woman and how to look.

I'm telling you, none of that means anything if you don't have your finances in order.

Money isn't everything.

Trust me when I say I know that.

What I'm trying to get at is the fact that once you do have your finances in order, you're a more confident man.

Fellas, chase the money first.

Scarface wasn't lying.

I followed the advice.

Because I did, I'm a much more confident and happy person overall.

As a result of being financially free, I have an abundance of time freedom.

Doing what I want, whenever I want.
