It’s surprising that many people don’t realize the NEPQ system isn’t new. It’s based on Socratic Questioning, a method developed by Socrates centuries ago, not originally for sales but for effective, honest communication.
This approach helps you quickly find out if a client isn’t right, leading to a fast “no” instead of wasting time. This way, you increase sales revenue and avoid lengthy meetings with uncertain clients.
This course may not be worth getting. You can learn this strategy from free online sources.
You can learn the same stuff for free elsewhere. Jeremy Miner just repackages old ideas and sells them with fancy marketing. Be skeptical of anyone who promises to greatly increase your sales and stop all objections—they’re not being realistic.
I haven’t read the book, but a company I work with hired the author last year to help with sales training and improve some scripts. He’s not the only expert out there, but his methods really work.
Improving how you speak, staying engaged, and knowing what questions to ask and how to ask them will definitely make you better at selling.
2 Things You Need to Know Before Taking Jeremy Miner’s NEPQ Training
There have been questions about the legitimacy of Jeremy's NEPQ training. The first question challenges Jeremy's claim that he created the NEPQ method after finding similarities with some of his methods in a course he took. The second talks about Jeremy's past with dubious MLM companies.
Is Jeremy Miner's NEPQ Training a Copycat Course?
Someone called out Jeremy Miner's NEPQ method as being similar to Michael Oliver's. The cheapest full course of Jeremy's NEPQ training costs about $3,000, compared to Michael Oliver's Natural Selling course that only costs $297.
Michael Oliver has been training salespeople since 1997 while Jeremy Miner's 7th Level NEPQ training was started in 2016. Jeremy Miner was a student of Michael Oliver's Natural Selling.
We can't really say that Jeremy just copied the exact methods he learned from Michael Oliver. What is more likely is that Jeremy used what he learned from Michael Oliver and refined it into his own NEPQ method after years of sales experience.
NEPQ questions are persuasive question-led dialogues meant to satisfy the prospect’s concerns and convince them to make the purchase. These are connection, situation, problem awareness, solution awareness, consequence, and commitment questions. Jeremy Miner has a behavioral science degree from Utah Valley University which he used what he learned about human behavior to structure NEPQ.
Jeremy Miner's Sales Work With MLM Companies
Many multilevel marketing (MLM) companies were a big subject of controversy. Throughout the early 2000s, many have been exposed as pyramid scams, with legal action taken. With Jeremy's history with some of these MLM companies, it's no surprise many people are skeptical of him and his programs.
In 2005, Jeremy became a recruiter and began training for an MLM company called Liberty League International. This MLM company had a class action lawsuit filed against it in 2009 for being a pyramid scam. He continued to work with them, even as they changed their name to Life Path Unlimited amidst the lawsuit, until 2011. He then worked for another sketchy MLM company called Wealth Masters International until 2014.

Are Students of Jeremy Miner’s NEPQ Training Successful?
There is a lack of reliable student testimonials with real-world examples of how the NEPQ training can find you success in telemarketing. There is a YouTuber with the channel Sales Pro NYC who took Jeremy Miner's NEPQ 2.0 and tested it out for 9 weeks.
His results using the NEPQ in his calls weren't that promising. He ended his run after 4 weeks when he quit his offer. While he did praise the training and say that NEPQ helped shorten his calls, he didn't double his closing rate in 30 days as promoted by the course. The course also promises that it is effective in any industry but did not prove efficient in his high ticket offer.
Keep in mind that this is only one review from one experienced salesperson. Take this review with a grain of salt, as there are many variables to consider.
Jeremy Miner's NEPQ Training Conclusion
Jeremy Miner's NEPQ Training is a legit sales training program. The effectiveness of their NEPQ method does not guarantee high closing rates. The programs also do not offer job placement or even a list of companies that use the NEPQ method. Keep in mind that most companies that hire salespeople will require them to sell using their own sales techniques and methods.

Is Telesales Worth It in 2024?
It is worth working as a salesperson for a reputable company. 25% of telesales agents in the United States make $43,500 a month in commissions. Keep in mind that this is still a job for which you need to work 5-7 days a week. Without proper skills, experience, or a reputable brand to work for, you may find it hard to close sales. For beginners, it may be hard to find work in some industries without sales experience.
The most common example of telesales is cold calling, where a sales agent contacts a prospect in order to pitch a product or service. Leads come from people who show interest and submit their contact information. With B2B, you can also get leads by manually searching through sites like Google or LinkedIn.
- Ask Discovery Questions - This is the introduction where you try to discover the customer's interests and personality.
- Handling Objections - Find out and address their concerns.
- Control the Call - Keep the customer interested as you lead to your presentation.
- Presentation - Present your product or service and answer all their questions.
- Closing - If everything goes smooth you'll be able to finish up the call and close the sale.
NEPQ stands for Neuro-Emotional Persuasion Questions. The neuro-emotional persuasion questions (NEPQ) are questions that are formulated using behavioral science. These are questions to ask potential buyers that would persuade them to make a purchase. NEPQ is meant to diffuse the customer's objections before they even make them, leading to confidence in their decision to make the purchase.
Cold calling is a difficult job for which to get high closing rates. You might want to check out high-ticket closing as an alternative to cold calling. Sales courses like Closers.io, Elite Closers, and Millionaire Closer can help you get started, with Elite Closers even offering job placement after completion. There are also high ticket speaking courses that deal with objections like Joel Bauer's mentorship program.
Best Passive Income Business in 2024?
Local lead generation is my number 1 passive income business model for 2024. It starts by creating a website and ranking it on Google using free tactics such as SEO. You then rent out your ranked site to local businesses, creating a predictable monthly income.
It takes as little as $500 in the initial investment to start a local lead generation business. A site can earn up to 90% ROI completely passively. There are hundreds of niches and thousands of local areas from which you can choose your market.
The potential for scaling is pretty much limitless. To scale, all you have to do is repeat the process of ranking and renting. It takes very little time and money to maintain your business. Being a local lead generation business owner can create time and financial freedom for you.
