Furthermore, we read that Ogline Digital only uses “tried and true” online marketing tools such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube. Their website even dismisses “new platforms” (such as TikTok, Pinterest, and others) as something people only use in the hopes of hitting “a pot of gold.”

Debunking Dylan Ogline's Claims

Despite Ogline’s claims that their agency’s #1 priority is to ensure return on investment (ROI) for their customers, their Terms of Service page clearly carries a disclaimer. Users are expected to acknowledge that program participation should not be “relied upon” when it comes to “future income, expenses, sales volume, or potential profitability.”

Experienced advertisers also know the importance of reaching potential customers through various social media platforms. For example, TikTok has over 1 billion monthly active users worldwide. TikTok ads reach about 17.9% of internet users ages 18 and above, plus 65% of marketers that purchase paid ads on social media buy them on TikTok.

Meanwhile, Snapchat is the world’s 5th most popular social media platform with over 750 million daily active users. Reports also indicate that 45% of people with a 100K household income in the US are Pinterest users.

3 Challenges of Paid Advertising

1. Paid ads can be expensive over time.

A common drawback for paid advertising is that it will require continuous expenses on your end. As a business owner, you’ll need to allocate a budget for paid ads to gain access to its benefits. Of course, you’ll also have to observe and track the performance of different online marketing platforms to determine which ones are best for your brand.

2. It’s a competitive market.

With many companies using online advertising these days, the market can be saturated and difficult to penetrate. Many similar companies are trying to build brand awareness and capture potential customers online using similar tactics. You’ll need to be creative if you want to stand out and attract your target audience. Also, it can help if you focus your efforts on the right keywords to make money online.

3. Many users do not trust social media ads.

According to statistics, up to 74% of social media users think there are too many ads online while 65% admit they skip video ads. Business owners definitely have to be strategic if they want to make the most of their social media advertising campaigns.

Local Lead Generation Pays a Residual Income With Free Traffic

Learning local lead generation strategies is a cost-effective way to increase interest in your brand without spending on paid advertising. When done right, it can rapidly boost your presence on search engine results, which can then bring you free, organic website traffic. In addition, you can also enjoy better brand awareness and credibility.

The lead gen strategy can even grow your revenue. Statistics tell us organic traffic has a 15% conversion rate. In comparison, paid traffic only has a 2% conversion rate. Plus once your site hits the first page results, there’s very little work to do - unlike in paid ads where you’ll have to spend money month after month.

Local lead generation

To illustrate, I built this tree care website back in 2015. It still attracts traffic to this day and makes me $2,000 per month as I rent it out to a local business owner. I own several of these sites and earn a total of up to $52,000 monthly.

If you’re a business owner hoping to learn lead gen skills and avoid costly paid advertising, get in touch and we'll tell you about our local lead generation coaching program.
