This is a review on the best affiliate marketing courses in 2020.

I've actually gone through the courses myself and have had real experience making money with affiliate marketing.

This business model has some important aspects to it such as:

  • Traffic Generation (Paid & Organic)
  • Email Marketing
  • Niche / Personal Branding

I would say the most important aspect is traffic generation.

Why?

If you can get traffic, you'll make money with any affiliate program.

My #1 online business model has to do with generating traffic too.

Here's the link for that in case you want to check it out:

Let's go ahead and take a dive into this list. Towards the end see which is the #1 affiliate marketing course and if affiliate marketing is the best business model out there or not.

8) Affiliate Marketing In One Day - Udemy

Course length: 11 hours 22 minutes   Price: $14.99
Pros
  • Course was well structured and easy to understand
  • Alex teaches you the pros and cons of 5 different affiliate platforms
  • Many tips on how to avoid common mistakes that are made
Cons
  • Alex explains a bit more than is necessary
  • There's more SEO info than affiliate marketing
affiliate marketing In One Day Course details:

If you're looking to be your own boss, this course teaches you how to do just that.

As you start taking this course, you'll learn the basics and fundamentals of marketing before you even choose an affiliate niche that's going to give you a great ROI.

You're going to understand the difference between metrics such as  CPC, CPA, affiliate cookies, backend commissions and other important concepts.

If you're a beginner, you're not going to have a clue as to which affiliate platform is the best one. Alex goes on to analyze 5 different platforms to help you get familiar with them.

This is very helpful and when you're finished, you'll have a clear picture as to which platforms you'd like to use.

Alex Genadinik is a 3-time best selling Amazon author whose books are in universities and even high school all across the country.

For more than 10 years he's been involved in entrepreneurship and he's coached over 1000 entrepreneurs.

Alex knows what he's doing especially when it comes to SEO and marketing in general.

If he didn't, he wouldn't have coached so many other entrepreneurs.

The Bottom Line
Best selling point
  • You learn the pros and cons of different affiliate platforms
Biggest Issue
  • You learn more SEO than affiliate marketing

Conclusion:

I think this is a good course to pay for because if you're new, you'll get an idea as to which affiliate platforms you think would fit you best.

Not like other courses that teach you how to use their platform.

This course is also good because you learn how to promote your products using Search Engine Optimization and social media. It's all about having many lines in the water and Alex teaches this.

He even teaches you how to choose profitable niches.

This is a decent course if you've made up your mind on affiliate marketing being your business model of choice.

Adam has 7 years of experience as an internet marketer. In 2015, he was able to sell his eComm site for $25,000. He's not as successful as many of the others on this list but his techniques he shares in his course here can still be implemented in your affiliate marketing business.

Hence why he ended up on the list.

What's great is how organized his course is. Because of that, you shouldn't feel too lost or confused.

This one will definitely open your eyes when it comes to copywriting too. It's such a necessary skill in marketing in general so I'm glad Adam goes into that.

The Bottom Line

His method of teaching is very simple which makes it easy for anyone new to this affiliate marketing world to understand. This helps out big time when it comes to learning the more complicated aspects of this business.

This course is free for the first 7 days and the community is really supportive.

Trust me, it's hard enough to find the right business model. Finding a community that has true support in a solid business model isn't really seen anywhere.

Kyle does a really good job at showing you where to find affiliate offers. He even shows you how often to place affiliate links. This is important because if you start spamming the web, you're going to have problems.

Take my word for it, I know.

What you'll learn in this course is how to:

  • navigate your community and get setup
  • setup your own site and get traffic
  • monetize your traffic
  • best use social media to maximize your traffic
  • improve your content

You'll learn this model from A-Z and back again.

Kyle and his partner Carson are the creators of this course and have even created a keyword tool called Jaaxy.

They've been very successful with growing their community and sharing as much knowledge as possible.

Kyle is definitely active in the group so you can expect many of your questions to be answered.

The Bottom Line
Best selling point
  • Training is highly affordable
Biggest Issue
  • Best opportunity to succeed is to promote Wealthy Affiliate

Conclusion:

You'll learn how to build sites and rank for long-tail keywords but you really do need to invest so much money to create a site that has so much authority.

Ex. Ippei.com

There's just so much money and time you have to invest before you see any profit IF ever. If you're looking for a passive income, this isn't the course for you.

This is a good course to learn affiliate marketing, but don't get blinded by how cheap the membership fee is per month. Paid traffic just isn't my cup of tea anymore. At the end of this article I talk about how to really make a passive income with free organic traffic.

Wealthy affiliate rating: 3.6/5

3.) Affiliate Marketing Mastery - Stefan James

Course length: 20 hours and 21 minutes.     Price: $1,997

Cons

He teaches you affiliate marketing from top to bottom, inside and out. He explains what he does to build an audience and mentions how his strategies revolve around the success of building a brand.

His main focus is providing value to customers.

Stefan can't emphasize that enough.

I know how important it is to provide value. In my business model of local lead gen, all we do is provide value. Many times in advance and the majority of those times we close clients easily.

The best part of this course is that what Stefon teaches you are all white-hat methods when building your online brand.

This matters a ton.

By learning from Stefan,  you're going to have a peace of mind. There won't be any need to worry at any point if what you're doing is ok to do.

On top of everything, you're going to come out of this course with a whole new set of skills that will allow you to help other businesses grow. You'll even be able to positively influence other entrepreneurs just like Stefan's been doing.

Stefan James is a 7-figure entrepreneur. He's a life and business coach to many entrepreneurs who have nothing but great things to say about him. He's absolutely making an impact in many people's lives and getting paid serious cash while doing so.

Stefan makes money through affiliate marketing due to his hard work & dedication of building a personal brand on YouTube as well as building his blog. On affiliate commissions alone for promoting an online course, he made $340K in 2 months.

If you decide to do anything, listen to this guy. Pay attention in his course and you'll be well on your way to making bank.

The Bottom Line
Best selling point
  • You'll learn a wide range of skills to help other entrepreneurs, not only yourself
Biggest Issue
  • The business model can be very expensive

Conclusion:

If you have a passion for affiliate marketing and believe that's the path for you, go for it. No one should hold you back from your dreams.

I just think this business model is not one that will allow you to earn a passive income as most business models promise.

With this course though, you'll learn affiliate marketing from A-Z. It's a steeper price than most other courses so I would look elsewhere if I were on a budget. If you do invest in this one, hustle because one offer could be all it takes to get your ROI.

Affiliate Marketing mastery rating: 3.8/5

Cons
  • Some of the modules seem a bit unorganized and out of order. Free traffic should have all been one module

  • This is a hard business model for beginners in 2020
  • Could use more case studies
Savage affiliates Course details:

Franklin does well in teaching you about various traffic types which include:

  • Google Ads
  • Facebook Ads
  • SEO
  • YouTube Videos

I think it's great that he even teaches you how to choose niches.

That may be one of the hardest things for someone to do whenever they jump into any marketing business. He even advises you on what niches to completely avoid.

That's huge.

If you're new, you're going to appreciate this course and feel like your investment was well worth it.

What else?

Franklin also touches on email marketing, gets you familiar with business tax forms so that you can remain compliant with the government as well as how to track your sales, offers and metrics.

If you don't know how to get going and you've got no cash because you used your last $197 to buy this course, Franklin shares some tips on how to still make things happen.

Franklin Hatchett is very successful at affiliate marketing and has made millions of dollars.

He's a "2 comma club" award winner with Clickfunnels who has several assets that he's able to capitalize on through different methods and strategies.

Affiliate marketing and the eComm space have been his cash cows so you can be sure that you're going to be taught by a pro.

The Bottom Line
Best selling point
  • Great price for a course that gives you the A-Z with affiliate marketing
Biggest Issue
  • Very expensive business model

Conclusion:

If you're dead set on going into the affiliate marketing world, for this price, you can't go wrong. You'll be taught everything you need to know from a pro and for your peace of mind, there's plenty of case studies that prove Franklin's methods do work.

It can just get really expensive and time consuming if you're in this business model.

Savage Affiliates rating: 3.9/5

Pros
  • Comprehensive training on all traffic sources
  • John is a proven 7-figure affiliate marketer
  • Weekly Q&A calls

This course goes deep when it comes to running paid ads on Facebook as well as Native ads.

Carlos Cruz, is your mentor and he shares what winning ads and landing page templates look like. All you have to do is copy, paste and make some tweaks where you find necessary.

When a course shares proven techniques and scripts like that, you get extra points in my book.

I even hired Carlos at one point to mentor me when I was in the affiliate space and it actually went very well. Mind you, I paid $10,000 for his mentorship so you know that what I learned was top-level stuff.

You obviously want to learn affiliate marketing the right way so invest in these guys.

He knows what he's doing.

His companies have made him over 2.9 million dollars because he's really an expert when it comes to internet marketing, business development, conversion optimization  and even paid traffic on Facebook and Google.

All you have to do is check out his case studies, you'll see how many positive results his students have been able to get because of his proven methods.

The Bottom Line
Best selling point
  • You can start making money right away once you find a winning ad
Biggest Issue
  • Very inconsistent when it comes to making money. The cost of advertising is expensive and constantly rising

Conclusion:

At the end of the day, paid traffic is great because you can start generating traffic in some cases immediately. The thing with that though is that it takes time to find a winning ad that will actually generate traffic for you.

You're always going to be testing and monitoring your ads.

Doing so can put you out of hundred, even thousands of dollars over the course of a weekend without a return. This is an expensive business model up front. Still though, you'll learn everything you need to learn about affiliate marketing and some from these guys.

Super affiliate system rating: 4.0/5

Is Affiliate Marketing Worth It?

Key Takeaways
Free Traffic

  • Ranking in Google requires very powerful sites now in 2020
  • Results seen anywhere between 6-12 months
  • Extremely passive once sites are ranked
  • Youtube videos still work but very low pay for most people
  • Key to Success: High-quality content & powerful backlinks
  • Courses: Affiliate Marketing Mastery, Wealthy Affiliates

Paid Traffic

  • Takes some capital and practice to get right, but much faster results than ranking sites (SEO)
  • Not as passive, requires ongoing maintenance
  • Key to Success: Create amazing ad image & copy, use working funnels. Model after success, use similar to what's already working.
  • Courses: Super Affiliate System, Savage Affiliates

Now, the Google Hummingbird and Penguin update has totally made affiliate marketing tougher since 2016.

Once upon a time, you could build new sites and rank them targeting very specific long tail keywords.

For example, creating a separate page that targets the following exact match long tail keywords to help you rank:

Exact Match Long Tail Keywords

  • How to lose weight for endomorphs
  • Weight loss tips for endomorphs
  • Endomorph weigh loss tips

Today, Google values high quality pages that come from powerful, authoritative domains that will rank for all the long-tail variations.

Exact match is no longer  valued like it once was.

Google is also smart enough to figure out that all 3 of the above variations are really looking for the same thing.

Therefore, the site below is ranking for all of the above variations.

This is why I have an issue with some of these affiliate marketing courses like Wealthy Affiliate.

They still teach that long tail keywords are outdated today which is wrong and that's why they didn't place higher on my list.

Running paid traffic with affiliate marketing offers is another beast as well.

Here's an example of one of my ads that made me a good chunk of cash with an anti-aging skin cream affiliate offer on Clickbank.

The image is the most important aspect with paid ads. The above image works because its using vector art instead of a real image which becomes a pattern interrupt.

It also points out a pain so you're able to draw an emotional response.

(If you're looking to hire a vector artist, you can use Fiverr)

PS: I've stopped running these offers eventually because I just didn't feel right promoting a product that felt like it was scamming people by taking advantage of people's insecurities. But this is an offer that a super affiliate taught me to promote and it actually worked.

What did I learn though?

A product or offer that pangs people's emotions converts best with paid traffic.

So, I don't agree with some of these courses that tell you that "you can go into any niche & promote any offer".

Wealthy Affiliate teaches, "Find your passion niche".

From my experience, not all affiliate offers were created equal. If I'm you, I would research offers that other super affiliates are already promoting.

The challenge with paid ads is that one working ad doesn't stay alive & profitable forever.

At some point, all ads will reach ad exhaustion.

AKA too many people have seen it, get tired of seeing it and therefore the CTR (click through rate) drops like crazy.

There's no need to keep spending your entire daily ad budget.

So, it's a constant process of battling with ad costs & your return on investment (ROI), killing under performing ads and then creating new ones.

You really do take on the risk with paid ads because FB doesn't guarantee ROI. That's what makes me lose interest in business models that use paid traffic these days.

With not enough of a conversion percentage, you're going to lose money on every click.

On the flipside if you become a master at continuously creating top performing ads that convert, you then have the ability to generate traffic over night and start turning profits.

Personally, I did make quite a few profitable ad campaigns to date.

Why did I stop?

Paid traffic requires much more on-going work to maintain the performance of the ads than ranking sites organically & generating free traffic.

Like I said, that makes me lose interest in the biz model.

I got to a point with paid ads where it was difficult to scale.

My days became filled with the following activities which got old to me real quick:

Activities That Got Old Quickly

  • Analyzing ads
  • Killing low performance ads
  • Creating new ads
  • Finding new images to battle ad exhaustion
  • Creating new landing pages
  • Creating new ad accounts to replace the ones that were suspended

It got boring and what really just nailed the coffin for me was that I hit a certain ceiling in income.

As soon as that happened,  I was over it.

Nobody keeps doing something if they lose interest.

I have a very growth oriented mindset, so I can only be in a business that allows me to continuously get to the next level of income every month, every year.

That's what I love about entrepreneurship.

"Which route should I take?"

All these methods will take some serious grinding hours:

  • Youtube Affiliate Marketing - You can do it if you're broke
  • Free Traffic (SEO) Affiliate Marketing - $10K+ Budget, 6-12 months, big pay day once you rank & very passive income
  • Facebook Ads Affiliate Marketing - $15K+ Budget, around 3 months learning curve, couple thousand per month of profit to more depending on how good you get.
  • Native Ads Affiliate Marketing - more advanced, $20K+ Budget, I recommend mastering FB ads traffic before moving onto this one. Going up against super affiliate competition

Conclusion

Super Affiliate System by John Crestani is the most comprehensive course if you've got the money.

If you just wanna give affiliate marketing a try without breaking the bank, I recommend Savage Affiliate.

Affiliate Marketing can work.

If my goal is to get to $10K per month though,  lead generation is so much easier IMO.

Yes, you do have to talk to some business owners and not hide behind a computer screen the whole time.

C'mon, don't be that lazy.

But this is the exact same reason why I like lead generation because you come with leads in hand and every business owner needs leads.

Affiliate Marketing vs. Lead Generation

Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons of both affiliate marketing and my #1 online business model, local lead generation.
Affiliate Marketing

Earn commission promoting various offers usually in the big 3 niches of health, wealth, dating

Pros
  • No need to deal with client
  • Automated payments
  • Many types of offers
  • Paid ads will help you scale
Cons
  • Organic rankings for many niches is saturated
  • Paid traffic is a hassle because of constant monitoring of ads
Lead Generation

Earn commission generating leads for small businesses such as contractors & other phone driven local services..

Pros
  • Passive Income
  • Less Saturated than affiliate marketing (easier to get organic rankings)
  • Plenty of niches & cities you can go into
  • Higher pay per sale than affiliate marketing
  • Hire VA's & outsource the work
#LeadGenAlwaysWins

Why I Choose Lead Generation Over Affiliate Marketing in 2020

Ranking sites in Google and generating free traffic is the best way to make long-lasting passive income.

With lead generation you can target local cities instead of competing for keywords globally or even nationally which is way more difficult.

Let me show you.

You see this search term?

Grand Rapids, MI has a population of 250K.

There's 35 tree service companies in Grand Rapids.

Ranking for that is a heck of a lot easier than trying to rank for:

There's less competition.

With this keyword,  you're competing with affiliate marketers globally.

This is why so many affiliate courses teach you about making Youtube videos.

But, Youtube is also saturated.

There's very low traffic for these types of search terms and it takes way too long to gain any traction.

With local lead generation, you can create $750-$2000 per month passively in 3-6 months.

I'm dead serious.

That's about how long it takes to rank a brand new site locally.

Look at my tree service website and Google map listing I made for it.

See where it's positioned?

Exactly.

Top of the pack.

This is virtually my real estate.

This Grand Rapids Tree Service site has been making me $2000 per month and since 2015, I haven't touched my lead gen website. There's no need for any added maintenance after I rank the site either.

That's what makes this business model truly passive.

I've even noticed how much happier I am because of this business model. I'm not like everyone else who has to wake up at 5am or 6am to head out to work. I can wake up whenever I want because these websites are working for me.

Honestly, I don't even talk to my clients anymore. They just send me a check every month since they keep getting all of the calls that come through my site.

Don't believe me?

Look at all of these calls on my call tracking software for this one site.

Tell me what business owner isn't going to wanna pay me after getting 12 leads in a day.

Leads are in high demand people so, they're almost always going to want them.

The crazy thing is that those calls you see above are only a fraction of the calls I really get.

Page 1 of Google is prime real estate to attract all of those leads that are already looking for your service.

People that go to Google usually have high intent to pay for a service like tree removal.

Being #1 on Google is where you want your site to be. It's essentially the front of the line.

In my experience, lead gen has been far more lucrative, less saturated & easier to scale than affiliate marketing.

You'll be surprised at how much you can scale with this business model. The truth of the matter is that you're actually going to be having a huge positive impact on the lives and businesses you have as clients.

You're really helping them.

Here's all the reasons why local lead gen is the best:

I love this business model because the internet and local businesses aren't going anywhere.

What do I do with all of the money I make?

Obviously build out more of these digital properties or digital assets.

You've got to make your money work for you. I make sure my money is going into more of these websites that will make me more and more money.

Remember how I said that I hit a ceiling with my income when messing around with affiliate marketing?

Yea, that doesn't happen with local lead gen.

I'm in control of my time and and how much money I'm going to make. I don't need to have my face in the Ads manager section of Facebook checking on my ads monitoring the metrics to see if my ads will work.

The cost of advertising is rising and because of that, I'm not cool with risking losing hundreds of dollars, maybe even thousands over the course of two days just because an ad didn't work.

I'd rather stay in control of my money build out more money making sites.

Because of that, I have time to spend with my family and friends whenever I want.

What happens if I were to lose a client though?

I simply go out and get another one.

Remember, I own the site which means I own the leads.

Look, there aren't any refunds on time lost, so make sure the decisions you make in your life are going to allow you to enjoy every breathing second.

If you're interested in learning more, click here for our lead generation coaching program, we have over 5800 students and we've been producing results since 2014.

#Over5800Students

The level of support you're going to find in the coaching program and our group is really second to none. Believe me, I've been in plenty of private "support" groups where there really isn't any support or even respect.

Once you join our group, you're not only going to learn everything you need to succeed, but you're going to be guided and coached twice a week by our mentor, Dan. You'll also have access to plenty of resources so you can succeed. We're talking about scripts, contract templates and more.

This group has seriously become a type of family.

Every year we go to Los Vegas where go learn more about this business model. Last year, I had the chance to be a speaker and share more expert SEO tips.

We really do "level-up" as a group after those annual conferences. Everyone seems to be so charged up after Vegas year after year.

Vegas 2020 will be happening soon and we're all gonna level-up again.

COVID-19 can't stop us from doing so.

You can be there with us, or not.

But you know you want to.

At the very least, your curiosity is peaking right now.

Analyze yourself.

If you're ready to work hard, are coachable and are just tired of wondering around trying to see what business model is the best long-term, I'll see you on the inside.

This is the online business that's going to change your life.

It sure changed mine.

Oh and by the way, the tuition is so much less than a college tuition.

One client could literally pay it all off.

It's all up to you to make it happen.

Come on in and get started already.

I’m doing some research into affiliate marketing and I’m looking into the training program run by Andrew James and Stephen Esposito of Elevated Entrepreneurs. Their training program is called Accelerated Affilites. I’m wondering if you have heard of them and if so, what is your opinion on them? They focus on lot on automating your affiliate sites so that you can have more freedom with your schedule. Please I am really looking for feedback on this.

  2. Hey Ippei,

I have been following you for a while now, I am having moderate success with affiliate marketing. (1 year experience)

Might get into Lead generation sooner than I think, been planning for a while, but before that…

I want to stick to Affiliate Marketing a bit longer, my SEO skills are mediocre at best, learnt from WA.

Do you know any courses that teaches Higher Level SEO than WA?

I would really appreciate if you could help me out, thanks in advance.
